No Noodles For Guide Dogs

The All-Japan Guide Dog Users association chose to hold their 15th national convention in Takamatsu, Shikoku. The city is famous for its udon so attendees wanted to check out the local specialities. Getting into the spirit, one local restaurant decided to bar a group of six accompanied by 3 guide dogs, which is illegal in Japan. The local council said that they don't get many guide dogs so business owners aren't as aware of the law as they should be. The restaurant apparently decided to turn them away because they only had a tatami mat room free and thought the dogs would disturb the other customers. They have now admitted they didn't know the law and will seek to comply in the future. The group went for ramen instead.

This shit happens in the US too. Don't think it is only Japanese that have a monopoly on stooopid behavior.

We actually raise guide dog puppies here on the Left Coast. We have the puppies for about a year giving them basic obedience training and socializing them before turning them over to Guide Dogs for the Blind for official training.

We are supposed to be able to take the puppies most anywhere, as they are considered Service Animals in training. On occasion we have to politely advise people that service animals are permitted to enter most all establishments. We have had the most difficulties with Chinese restaurants. About a decade ago in North Carolina... dont know that much about NC, but I did meet one black guy and he was so white washed that he made Erkle and Dexter look like newbs (i finally got to use that word)

But yes Bucky, America has a lot of stuipd shit like that... Let's not bring up the hospital gig when you dont have insurace... who cares if you are bleeding out on the floor, the interns will clean that up.
