Typhoon for Halloween?

Postby dimwit » Wed Oct 27, 2010 10:40 pm

It looks like there is going to be a severe disruption in Sunday's festivites as I have noticed that a typhoon will be Tokyo way by Sunday night. Here, the neighborhood kids usually do trick or treating on Halloween but I still don't have a clue whether we should go ahead on the assumption that it will have passed Matsuyama by Sunday.

I highly doubt it. The last time a real Yamanote Halloween party went down was in 2007. Gaijinpoot started the 2010 thread already.

Easily the best fun from Halloween this year is gonna be reading the Engrish from the fuckwit protesters...I'm still holding my sides from last year's "Mother fuck foreigner betray God." All it needed was "Since 2008" and the bearer to have a jacket that said "Staff" and an armband and it would have summed Japan up to a tee.

Not quite. The jacket would have to say "Stuff" to achieve true perfection.

Ha, ha! Too true. Actually, now that I think of it, there should also be something along the lines of "New York, Paris, London, Utsunomiya."

You know I have had any number of Japanese tell me it's getting to cold for a typhoon. They are claiming when that baby hits this cold air front currently over Honshu, that the whole typhoon will just settle down and die. I asked them what is the explanation for this and all they say is that is just the way it always happens.

Now I've been here in riceville for damn near a day and a half now and I can never remember this "always happening."

Anyone else ever heard this in the land of four seasons?

How dare you question the close Japanese affinity with nature. Fucking barbarian. Of course it always happens this way, if that's what the Japanese are saying.

Typhoon need energy to sustain itself...

hot air / warm sea contain energy...

cold air, not much...

Pilots don't have meteo test in zee air force / navy ?

My sister had to learn all clouds name by their shape and possible consequences for the flight... Trouble is... it turned into a Rorchach test... and her being some sort of female-like Greji... her answers were most of the time like 'penis' and consequence being 'penis goes in vagina'... (second try was good...)

Doh!
I always forget to pluralize words like that. "Equipments" is another one.

*Sigh* ... back to Engrish school ...
