It's true, dude...Dahomey was more than just a way to refer to other African-Americans in Ebonics.

Back on topic, I'm in Ginza at the moment and Mr. Plod is fucking everywhere - there are more Koppers than shoppers.
Cops are walking around in groups of three, periodically whispering into their walkie-talkies and occasionally employing that all-purpose Japanese safety check of pointing with a white-gloved hand. I keep listening for a "you knucklehead" or "nyuk, nyuk, nyuk," but haven't heard it as yet.
I wonder whether I should tell 'em that the conference they're protecting is 20 miles away from here? Where are rampaging nude Brits traveling with Spanish tour groups when you need them?

After landing at Narita last night and escaping any questioning about the amount of luggage I was bringing in, I got my Narita Express ticket to Shinjuku and ventured outside to smoke a cigarette that was badly needed due to the crying baby concerto in D minor I endured on the flight. While smoking, a cop came by and hovered around me while I was trying a shoe lace then, said "passport preeze", and showed me a card that explained "Due to the APEC summit....blah blah blah".
Cop asked about my job in Japan. I told him in Japanese, and watched him try to write the Kanji for it twice, scratching it out each time before he settled on writing it in hiragana. Granted I can't write it legibly in Kanji either, but still.

Anyway, I'm jet lagged, intestines are completed bloated with Mexican food, and really want to take a massive power dump.

Yup, I've got three goons standing at the front of my mansion drive way at the moment. Might not sound that insane, but the madness is in the details. They could move a 15 sec. walk away and be on a main road and profile 1000% more people. Instead they salute my parents who are on a 10 day visit and get the shit eye from me. Do it for your cuntry, my taxes at work, nyuk, nyuk, nyuk.
Never underestimate the power of very stupid people in large groups.

After returning from Istanbul I kissed the tarmac at KIX International. Everybody thought I completely lost my fucking mind. I was so glad to be back in Japan, a country with real toilets! Those Arabs no nothing about plumbing and sewage. Japan is a land blessed with the comforts that no other country has.

Black slavery, black records

Postby rooboy » Mon Nov 15, 2010 12:02 pm

Getting back to the slavery shit, don't forget that Arab slave traders plied their 'trade' for centuries before whitey and did it after slavery was abolished in the states.

McTojo mentioned records - didn't know African tribes kept any.

Question for Samurai Jerk, American Oyaji (you're Black posters from what I've seen on here) - did any African tribes have writing systems and records? This is a serious question cause I freely admit I don't know much about African history.

What I know is that there was a powerful Black kingdom called Abyssinia, maybe modern day Ethiopia. I also know that white archaeologists of the 19th and early 20th century couldn't handle the fact that Egyptians were shades of colour thru to Black. I bet there were more Black Egyptians than anybody would think.

You just have to look at those Black African people (sorry, don't know their ethnicity's name) with long necks, long arms, and relatively small heads, and profiles that look different from many other Black Africans. To me they look right outta an Egyptian mural.

I'm pasty white with a black name.

I don't know much about black African history either but I'm sure Ethiopians kept written records considering the Ethiopian Orthodox Church is one of the oldest Christian sects in the world. However, the slave trade to the Americas mainly involved people from West Africa.

Anyway, the first foreign war the US fought was under President Jefferson and it was against Arab pirates who were enslaving American and European sailors. That's why the US Marines sing about "the shores of Tripoli".
