Otaku-Only Matchmaking Party

About 500 people applied for 40 places in an otaku matchmaking party the Kuki Chamber of Commerce will hold on Nov. 28.

"Otaku might put people on their guard at a normal matchmaking party, so I guess they feel at ease knowing they have something in common," a chamber spokesman said to explain the large number of applications to take part.
Otaku will visit a shrine, make noodles and eat dinner before they have to proposition a prospective partner.

Hey, who cares? Give these guys a break. It's the first time in their lives that they'll actually be talking to a prospective partner who is a real life human. That's amazing progress, I reckon. Once they've overcome that hurdle, then they can start working on which hole it's gotta go in.
