Last time I went to Maruei the real lackered tissue box were between 3000 et 5000 yens, with of course much more expensive ones on the special gift section... But I'm not talking aboot cardboard boxes printed in glossy black...

I heard public toilets stopped stocking tissues and paper during the oil shock because mass hoarding had caused acute shortages nationwide and everyone was stealing the stuff.
