Full body scanners coming to Japanese airports

Postby davai-davai IV » Thu Dec 09, 2010 5:44 pm

Same as the packages weight limit, all talk is in Japanese

In a shell: officials from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructures and Transportation discussed a proposal to change some law in case air companies desire the installation of full body scanners. The Civil Aviation Office guidelines are to be changed. Problem is who will bear the cost.
Also mentions some trial that was performed at Narita airport.

I have a feeling this might lead to the creation of some type of pornography one way or the other. :p

This is going to really piss me off if they get rid of the pat downs. If you're riding JAL, that's the best part of the flight.....

I get the feeling there's gonna be a hell of a lot of Customs officials filing worker's compensation requests if I ever travel overseas...

Though the J-public are usually sheep I wouldn't be surprised if this is one of those rare cases where they put their feet down and pitch a bitch. This is a country full of people who are obsessive about privacy and live in fear of the hentai and chikan.

That's probably right SJ. Here's a demonstration of the new scanner where you can try it out yourself. Probably NSFW for the weak hearted.....

Those philistines only shag our leftovers...Nothing does the job quite as well as a pure merino.

The Kiwis do write better cartoon strips about sheep-shagging, though...

We'll probably see it only applied to foreigners in the end in any case.
