That's a blast from the past. I was about to say "happy memories" but I can't really recall a single good night there. The last time I went would have been around 1995, and it was absolutely deserted.

Some shots of the entrance in daylight:

A lot of people who saw the outside assumed it was some kind of auto parts shop because they thought there were tyres either side of the door. The building lasted a while longer than the bar so I assume it was empty for quite a while.

Maybe this kind of bar need to be in a city that have soul/culture/history... and not in the crowded soulless empty shell that Tokyo is...

This whole country have not the slightest understanding of what a coffe shop should be, all are run like jiffy lube, you queue outside, are served on the spot and expected to leave when your glass is empty... The only convivial place i patronised were there was some sort of conviviality was Bikkury Donkey. during the day nobody pressure you into ordering or freeing the table, old ladies come to play bridge, housewives to have their meeting aboot geostrategic deployment of the 7th fleet nukular ordonnance... (at least)... It's often reaching the point were you have to go to the kitchen to order something more than your first request... but for all the others... it's trendy bullshit with vapid waitress, standardised food exactly matching the picture, and don't you dare asking for some salt or mayo, it will void the warranty as surely as an engine swap on a new car...

Depressing... stupid...

I feel you. Whenever i go to the coffee shop with a client and what not, i get the look of, "buy more shit or leave" from the "head goon". the chicks never give me problems though... i wonders why/
