Trade- 2gb RAM stick

Postby Mock Cockpit » Wed Jan 19, 2011 9:58 pm

Before I negotiate the byzantine world of Amazon's return system I thought I'd check here to see if I can do a trade.
I HAVE- 1x 2gb So-Dimm DDR2-800 PC2-6400 RAM made by CFD. It's new, not used but it has been out of the packet not that you could tell. Bought the wrong RAM. Note to self- don't rely on the crucial.com scanning tool ever again.

I WANT- 1x 2gb So-Dimm DDR3 PC 10600 (or 10660 same as I understand) RAM. Doesn't matter if it's not brand new as long as it still works properly. Must be a 2gb stick as I already have 1gb installed and it's a netbook so no empty slots and it maxes out at 2gb.

Cheers ladies and gents.

Just look up on Kakaku and you'll find exactly what you want.

The price seems reasonable to just ordering a new one instead. Just make sure that your netbook can handle such a behemoth amount of ram in one slot.

Cheers

Yeah I know which one I need to get now but I'm stuck with one I don't need and thought I'd try here instead of returning it to Amazon. Apparently in Japanese it's clearly stated that you can return it with the original packaging intact but in English they talk about the "plastic wrap" being intact. Do they mean the shrink wrap or the plastic packaging the RAM comes in. Oh well I'll just send the bastard back and hope they accept it. I'll sell it for 2000 yen and whatever shipping is if someone wants it but the missus is on my back about it so be quick.

I highly recommend http://www.1-s.jp for any online computer parts purchases. They have a brick and mortar shop in Osaka and are far and away the best computer shop I have dealt with anywhere.

They will take parts back within 2 weeks for *any* reason, including "I'm an idiot and bought the wrong one." (Been there, done that.) Almost no shops in Japan will do this. They'll also do returns and exchanges if what you buy isn't compatible with your other hardware. They have some of the lowest prices around (often they are the lowest) so it is really an unbeatable combination.
And you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death
