Some Japanese teens are wearing cotton face masks, normally meant to prevent the spread of flu germs, so they can retreat from society, social analysts say. Wearing disposable face masks to prevent the spreading of germs is commonplace among Japanese commuters and office workers, particularly during the winter months.
