Mini Skirts Bring Blanket Ban

Breaking news from the Asahi (Japanese): 1 in 20 Fukushima schoolgirls walk with a blanket in front of their legs (see above left). Apparently, blankets made an appearance during last year's cold winter but mainly were used in classrooms and on windy station platforms. This year, girls have been spotted actually walking along with them. Some told the reporter that they don't use a blanket because it doesn't look cool while others swear by them, saying that walking in school uniform mini skirts can be hazardous. Unhappy with this introduction of unauthorized colour and cute logos, schools have started to introduce ordinances banning them.

The thing is that they're not really miniskirts. They're all supposed to go below the knee, but the students roll them a few times at the waist to hike them up.

Schools should think a little about enforcing their existing rules before enacting new ones.

Do you honestly realise the stupidity of this statement ?

Sidenote... on my countryside, nearly all schoolgirls wear sweatpants under their skirts on cold days, they look like fooking hobos, but whatever can avoid frozen lips seems good in their book... I might not be in the most fashiun conscious city in zee world...

Reminds me of this classic dialogue...

Skinner: Oh oh. Two independent thought alarms in one day. The students are overstimulated. Willie! Remove all the colored chalk from the classrooms.
Willie: I warned ya! Didn't I warn ya?! That colored chalk was forged by Lucifer himself!

I work as an ALT in a few different high schools and those blankets are really popular. In some classes most of the girls are using them and even some of the female teachers use them in the teachers room.

The trend I am seeing here lately is college girls riding on their mopeds with a blanket. Hello accident mutilation.
