A couple in Washington state taken for all they had.

TACOMA, Wash. -- Charles and Katsu Bradley opened their home to a live-in caregiver.

In one year's time, the ailing couple's bank accounts were emptied, CDs cashed out, their home foreclosed upon.

And a warrant has been issued for the arrest of the caregiver Norma Cheesman, who has been charged with forgery and theft.

"She absolutely took everything. My mother and father were penniless and homeless by the time they died," said the victim's daughter, Carol Moye.

The Bradleys were married for nearly 58 years. They were a frugal couple who tucked away more than $100,000 in savings.

"They would spend hours trying to balance check book to the penny," said Moye.

But Moye says that changed when Cheesman moved in.

"Norma comes into the scene, they're bleeding money," she said.

Bank records shocked the Bradleys' children. Their 86-year-old dad, who suffered from Alzheimer's, suddenly and uncharacteristically started withdrawing huge amounts from accounts.

"In June, there's a $50,000 withdrawal," said Moye.

He also changed his will, cutting out his 82-year-old wife, who suffered from dementia.

"And gives my mother's portion of the estate to Norma Cheesman," Moye said.

Prosecutors say the relationship wasn't romantic but rather predatory. They suspect Cheesman quietly convinced her patient to give her power of attorney, get a reverse mortgage on their Tacoma home and buy her property in Skyway before the couple died just weeks apart.

"She's no sweet little old grandma," said Moye.

Charged with theft, Cheesman has been a no-show in court three times, and Moye fears she's left the country.

"I am here to get justice for my mom and dad, because I don't want this woman to do this to anybody else," she said. "I'm going to come after her until I get some justice."

The Bradleys paid their caregiver $5,000 a month.

Their daughter says she's spent nearly $100,000 on legal fees and won two civil suits against Cheesman, but she's not done yet.

I kind of side with Norman Cheeseman for taking an advantage of these people.

The fact that this man was paid $5000.00 a month just to care for this elderly couple is enough to smell a rat. It's like the children didn't even care enough about them to notice anything strange happening until after their parents died. It shows that, like with most aging parents, the total disconnect that the children had with them that this happened. And now, after the couple is dead and gone, they want some kind of justice....

Cheeseman just took advantage of an opportunity to extort thousands of dollars from a couple that had lots of money, and who were clearly unable to care for themselves, because nobody else would, including their own children.

Chessman is not the exception here, this person is normal. Sure his act was criminal, but if you had to work around senile people and put up with them day in and day out, and noone else give a shit about them, and you saw an easy opportunity to take advantage of them, you probably would after several years of putting up with them. Again, obviously the kids had their own lives to live and could care less.

I suppose you wanna fuck NORMAN the Cheese as well. I suppose he would be a better punch than Norma, if you're inclined that way. It does sound like you would like to get in on that free easy money. Caretaker rip offs are frequent, and unfortunately, far to easy. So I would recommend you work up your own scam, since it would appear that you believe that to be the proper course for a cultural specialist.

My grand mother got ripped off from her care taker. And we hired her not because we dont care about our grandmother, but because we cant take care of her.

these dicks are paid to do a job, why cant they just do it without doing over their clients?

If you dont want to take care of old people, find another line of work douche bags!

So Tojo, is it ok for me to rip off my company too? I take their shit day in and day out. And im in a position to rip them off. So should I do it coz your saying its ok? :D

Doing morally reprehensible things just because you want to is a sign of sociopathy.

In McTeeTee's case it is a sign of a violation of the criminal code for "Dumb in Public, with priors."

 I have no priors. Clean as can be, even behind the ears. The term sociopath used loosely like that is wrong.

What if there was something like a social net in America where the elderly were taken care of and everyone had health insurance?

Okay, I'm not going to feed the troll for long, but just so you know:
Sociopaths show a stunning lack of concern for the devastating effects their actions have on others. Often they are completely forthright about the matter, calmly stating that they have no sense of guilt, are not sorry for the pain and destruction they have caused, and that there is no reason for them to be concerned.

Their lack of remorse or guilt is associated with a remarkable ability to rationalize their behavior and to shrug off personal responsibility for actions that cause shock and disappointment to family, friends, associates and others who have played by the rules. Usually they have handy excuses for their behavior, and in some cases they deny that it happened at all.
