Hikikomori Film "Tobira no Muko"

"Tobira no Muko" (Left-Handed) is a Japanese film by English director Laurence Thrush. It deals with the issue of hikikomori and uses an actor to play the lead who himself attended a special school for troubled youngsters. The film came out in 2009 but is now getting a release in Japan. More details in English on the website.
