Forward thinking. This is...unsual, for a Japanese bureaucrat.

Let me keep my American citizenship and become a Japanese citizen.

So what he is saying is foreigners should go and work in the areas covered with toxic waste while the young Japanese continue to decamp to Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka and pretend to work in white collar jobs.

Was in Ishinomaki last Saturday on a borantia food delivery run from Tokyo organized thru the local city office, 90% of the locals we met were over 60 or kids. I didnt see a single jukujo or even a doable cougaranny. If gaijin are gonna move up there, they will need to BYOB (bring your own bobo)

Hey- I'm interested in doing some volunteer work starting mid-June for a week or so in Tohoku... I've got tech skills and a wet-ware translator to help out.

Anyone recommend a clearinghouse for borantia groups or a better thread to ask in?

This is my first post and I don't seem to be able to send PMs, fwiw..

No shit? The reports I'd been getting on Tohoku birds were that they were "positively radiant" and "glowing," but I guess it must have meant something different....

Don't let it fool you, it's just a ploy to keep the country overpopulated and keep the cash flowin in to him and his brethren.

i second that.

reasons why i am not going to help out or donate money...
their own youth aren't helping... pretty much ojiichans and obaachans from my friend who went out there and helped...

the want(ed) the US soldiers out of japan... but rely on them now as their own soldiers are not even at the level of eagle scouts

they got every celebrity doing fund raisers, auctions, etc. to get monies.

the claimed level of radiation is a gamble... 20 years from now you may have some nice incredible hulk attributes... or worst

their own people aren't doing nothing but watching it on tv and unplugging various electronic devices to save electricity...

they want us FGs to help cause their own numbers are low.

their own ppl aren't lending a hand.

Where's your evidence that Japanese people aren't helping and what does that have to do with the labor shortage?

not labor shortage, more mentality and my bitching over something that irks me... but I am seeing more Japanese people in roppongi/shibuya than what I had expected... not just the ratio between Japanese and us... but just pure attitude toward the situation. after nights of shooting the shit with people about the earthquake over some drinks... it sorta shocked me on ppls viewpoint. I am not just talking about the young crowd, but the "mature" working class people and what not. i would like to see some stats of people out there helping sorted by where they came from... would be interesting to see.

sorry for the blunt assholeish off sided comments
