I wonder why he's referred to as Japanese, since he's American.

Have you got something on that? I looked around initially when I saw him described as Japanese but couldn't see where he was born or whether he'd ever been a Japanese national. A few Japanese sites render his name in katakana but they sometimes do that when they aren't certain of the kanji.

Sorry, but I have to call you out on this.
The same as caucasians have variations, so do other races.
Two dark skinned black people CAN have children who are not so dark.

The thing is...race is bullshit.

It's a complicated issue and it's hard to put into words.

And there are plenty of black women who I personally think are attractive, including dark-skinned or 100% black or African women. But being from the south, the average black women tends to be severely overweight (probably half the black girls I went to high school were over 200 pounds) or simply unattractive, so I can't really say what the average black women around the world looks like.

But I think it's hard to argue that black people as a race aren't visually less similar than any other race, compared to all the other races. If you go white <> Asian <> middle-eastern <> etc, they all look more similar than say, Asian <> black. And since beauty standards are largely based on similarity to one's own race, it only makes sense that people from every race find black women less attractive.


Put it this way... how much white, Asian, and black porn does the average person watch? Because I guarantee it's not going to be 30/30/30 (unless you count the guys, haha).

I think there have been studies that also state that in the US, Asian men and black women have the hardest time in terms of dating, etc.

As SJ says, until we can see what Kanazawa originally wrote, we can't know what point he was trying to make. We can see from his other articles on that psychology blog that he enjoys being inflammatory.

Of course, with a mug like that, if I were him, I wouldn't be so quick as to call a group of people "less attractive" who is he to talk? Obviously, the man has some emotional issues. Probably never even seen a woman naked before. I would like to see his stats, how many people did he poll, what were his findings based on etc. Some countries find people of certain racial backgrounds more attractive then others, it's true, but you can't pigeon hole an entire race and call it the majority. Coming from L.A., we have everything, all races, color, top of the top and really barrel bottom scrapping crap.
