It sounds like Blinky has found religion!
But there may be some truth in what he says, even if he articulates it in a strange way. I would hope that this terrible crisis would be a chance for Japan to remake itself into something better than it was before. Mind you with all the false drama going on with the politicians, I don't see any changes coming.

Nope, not a shred of truth to be found.

He's targeting vending machines, but every home has a refrigerator that runs 24x7. Shouldn't people go and buy their food every morning from the supermarket? But supermarkets, they run their power 24x7 as well. Maybe people should buy from their local fishmonger, dairy, butcher, and bakery. (repeat this endlessly foolish argument until we're all raising our own grain, running our own mill near a creek, raising our own cows, until finally we look like a third-world country again)

The first clear sign of senility is confusing the present with the past. When he was a boy, homes had no refrigerators, washing machines, televisions, telephones, in-door plumbing. TB was rampant.

I think Coligny would agree with me here: this is completely a man-made problem. Nuclear power plants designed for 30 year lifespans rubber-stamp certified for an additional 30 years with no replacement plans in sight. Instead of fixing the corrupt culture responsible for this disaster, we're supposed to suck it up and go back to the bad old days?

Mulby, please correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this the same majime materialistic Blinky that has made three separate attempts at getting Casinos legalized for Tokyo? As for the sex part, at his age, he probably hasn't had more than a piss hard for the last ten years. No wonder he doesn't want anyone else to get any......

Guess I want to ask the man whose bank lost how many millions, if J-folks do not focus on sex, how can the population deline be reversed.....wait a second...this is all part of a Gattaca-style plot to actually get people to stop reproducing, so "genetically pefect humanoids" can be created in labs...If the newly-designed female beings got big DSLs and audacious bods, I'll support Ishihara for a 5th term....oh, wait...no sex....asshole.

What...?

Postby McTojo » Tue May 31, 2011 3:32 pm

CSNailor,

I thought the governor made some salient points. Vending machines were just an example. I do think he was shedding a light on Tokyo's decadent lifestyle. I am so glad he is back in office.

Now that I think of it, Gov. Ishihara' s phallic-like thrusts to control and spud-like appeal to the common decrepit old fogey certainly qualify him as, if nothing else, a dick-tater.
I'm sure he'll be able to solve all Tokyo's problems in a blink...

I'll ignore your juvenile misspelling of my name and ask you in return:
- Calculate for me the amount of power spent running all of the vending machines throughout the 23 wards of Tokyo
- Compare it with the power wasted by this colossal monument to Tokyo's ruling class (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tokyo_Metropolitan_Government_Building)

As for Pachinko and Slot parlors, he's free to push for legislation banning them within his city. The fact that he has not done so demonstrates once again that he is all talk and no action.

CS, I wasn't talking specifically about the vending machines or the pachinko parlors, and heaven forbid I ever agree with Mctojam, but all I was thinking was Ishihara's idea about a chance for Japan to make a change from the past. How many times have we complained about the way things are done here, and all we can say is T.I.J. I was hoping that things could change and that people would be happier for it. Both locals and us.

Toadjo, just like in the past, Blinky runs his mouth and the Waga country comes out, but what has come into being from his ravings? What has he accomplished to offset his losses in the bank scandal? Losses on failed Olympic bids, as well as losses because of general mis-administration. McTurd, I suggest that instead of pulling your pud and slobbering every time he speaks, you take a close look at what he has accomplished, or better, what he has not accomplished.

Sure, how about:
- Strictly enforced, independent oversight of nuclear power facilities throughout Japan
- Public taxes raised for R&D for 4th-generation nuclear power plants to replace the existing plants
- Innovative thinking on power storage and transport

The way forward doesn't require a trip to the past.

Yes, but notice how MUCH MOAR EASY it is to vaguely blame vending(1) machines and pachinko lightings(2) than the level of greed corruption and incompetence that are the driving force behind Tepco and the japanese governement...

(1) they won't fight back until they are Transformers waiting for Optimus' call
1bis: unlike in barbarian countries our vending machine ain't got no looted SEE HOW THE JAPANESE RACE IS SOOO SUPERIOR BITCHES ?

(2) who will have a good excuse to cut on the lighting by solidarity...
2 bis: The local governement are unable to do as well as privately owned pachinkos to go back on their feets (... bitches ...)

It's a much moar subtle speech than usual (especially after the divine punition one)... But it's the same turd sandwich as usual... Plus the insinuation that the quake was a divine call for him to stay in power... (that might explain why there is not another mention of divine punition, might as well use positively the event instead of demonizing it)
