I stopped a rightist!

Postby Col.Kilgore » Sun Sep 07, 2003 3:17 pm

I did it! I went to see that crazy old jiji with his long dirty gray hair and battle bus and mailed a letter to him stating that if he continued to drive his stupid bus outside my apartment twice a week I would seek legal action.... and I haven't seen sight nor sound of him or his bus all weekend! He usually drives it around at least once on a weekend. Chalk another one up in the victory column for Uncle Sam

More likely Grandpa is rallying the troops for a mega-attack on Kilgore. ;)

Of course we know who Colonel Kilgore is! I saw Apocalypse Now Redux on DVD this year-I watched it over two days, it was pretty long. Thing is Kilgore is meant to be crazy, but I understood and agreed with what he was saying about how to win the war. Dennis Hopper's journalist character was so funny, just so whacked out on drugs for the filming....'Did you realise that "if" is a word in "life"!!! etc

Isn't Lawrence Fishburn (Morpheus) in Apocolypse Now?

Apocalypse Now (1979)
Larry [now Laurence] was only 14 when he went to Vietnam in the movie Apocalypse Now.
http://www.videoeta.com/person/655

http://www.reelimagesmagazine.com/txt_reviews/movie_reviews_2001/apocalypse_now_redux.htm

...Heading upriver on a Navy boat with Willard and his escorts -- Chief (Albert Hall), Chef (Frederic Forrest), Lance (Sam Bottoms), and Clean (Laurence, then 14-year-old Larry, Fishburne) -- you can almost feel the moral and environmental heat closing in them. The light grows dimmer, the trees spookier, and the mission itself, exponentially more sinister. By the time they reach the "a**hole of the world," the Do Long bridge that is, night after night, blown up and rebuilt, it's no accident that the only soldiers Willard meets are black men, firing their weapons into the night...
