You could just push the Note off a cliff (make sure you're not in it when you do this). That would shorten the negotiations considerably.

OK, sorry. My bad. I'll rephrase the question in terms you might be more comfortable with:

So, considering that you find the size of the vehicle comfortable without being unwieldy, and are able to predict the precise moment and angle at which external obstacles are likely to impact any of the conveyance's exterior surfaces with millisecond and micron precision, and in addition to the aforementioned advantages are pleased with the fact that not only can you wash cat puke off the seats without having to worry about discoloring the upholstery, but you can set the air conditioning to precisely the required temperature while simultaneously tuning the radio, picking your nose, ogling the fine wench walking along the other side of the road, and navigating a slalom course without losing control of the car ... and ... wait, I'm not done yet ... and since you quoted the price of a fully accessorized diesel model rather than the considerably cheaper gasoline model it appears that you have pretty much decided on getting that highly exulted version rather than the more pedestrian (how can a car be "pedestrian"?) and boring "regular de mantan onegaishimasu" edition ...

Does this mean that, assuming you can decide on a color (my recommendation: get a red one) and convince some member of your family ... perhaps one of the cats ... to assume final responsibility for the purchase that ... here it comes ...

... you'll be buying an XTrail?

On the other hand, Coligny ...

If you want something that is just practical, have you checked out the new Lafesta?
I just noticed that spec-wise it's quite similar to what I drive (although I think my Honda is cooler looking  ):

The Honda Stream ZS (mine is the same type and color as this):

For comparison, the new Lafesta.

Not exactly exciting, but very practical and, speaking for the Stream, very comfortable for a big guy to drive, plus good visibility. The Toyota Wish is another mini-wagon in this category (even though I know you won't be touching no feelthy Toyota).

Just a thought ... feel free to ignore if you're still arguing over the XTrail ... which, of course, is the buggy you really should be getting. :toothy:

yeah, i saw the new lafesta last week... i jumped inside immediately... electric rear doors, 7 seats... cheap, 2l engine...

but some mouth breathing retard from the engineering put a sideway chassis reinforcement pipe across the front just over the pedals. Result, you bump your feet on it everytime you switch from brake to accel... I seriously wonder if you re not supposed to drive it with a feet on the throttle and the other on the brakes like a formula one. It's so stupid that it seems to be a purposefull sabotage.

The design while not exactly gorgeous was a huge step froward from the previous "Lada" bodyshape.

Complete stall for now, not in the mood to negotiate with someone immature enough to considere the whole situation as just a game.

Oh right, now I remember you mentioning the pipe over the pedals before (sorry 'bout that ... smelly brain fart on my part).

Good luck with the domestic stalemate ... :(

Get the X-trail in your color and if she bitches about it at all in the next 10 years, simply remind her that you offered to let her choose....

Just do what I did... Buy the car you want and tell the wife about it later.
And you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death

No more Braziliun... they all gone...

And...

That didn't work with the Audi... (let sitting several time openned with the key in, always with the sad... "fook, still there" when going back to the parking... the insured value was 3 milions yens, take back value... 1 happy meal, without the toy. We were wondering if we should put a "free car" sticker on the windshield... It was a time were you didn't need to prove you had secured properly your car before filling a claim for it being stollen)

In other news, Nissan will revive the Datsun brand. Their first car will be based on a Lada plateform, more precisely the lada Grante, which is a sedan version of the Kalina hatchback...

and this because...

In other other news... Renault take control of the Russian Lada Autovaz... allowing Nissan to fuck around and revive Datsun for 3rd world countries...

Another reason is J-people know the engines in small nissans are crap. My inside man has told me repeatedly that nissan can not use the infiniti name in japan due to copyright issues. Using the Datsun name for the march, note, bluebird, tiina and mom vans would be a logical move to jack up the prices on the cars you actually want (especially since the new infinitis will share frames with Merc starting with the 2014 g, a.k.a. skyline).

You have a note, right? Has yours started stalling at stop lights yet? How about the aircon dying at 60,000k?

Officially... the alliance is between Renault and Mercedes Benz, with Nissan enjoying some side benefits... (With Goshn soon gone, and Tavares being a real Renault person, you can expect Nissan to take a backseat in the alliance... His paw is already felt in the official rebirth of Alpine Renault with Catheram, something that Goshn always opposed)

wuchan wrote:You have a note, right? Has yours started stalling at stop lights yet?

Ffffffffffuuuuuuuuu... It's not a stall, it's a free "stop and Go" system upgrade... (BTW, no, he don't stall at redlights... yet... but there's really times at low speed where you feel that you are 1 hair away from stalling...)

How about the aircon dying at 60,000k?

I don't think i will be able to notice the death of the aircon... since in summer it take easily 30 minutes to bring the car to a proper temperature... and in winter I keep my gloves and coat on...

And it's a shame... Because Renault make fabulous small diesel engines and twin clutch gearbox for their city econobox... while Nissan continue with their desperate HR15DE bolted to their craptastic CVT...

EDIT...

Actually... I would not stall at the redlight since I always switch to neutral at the end of braking or when stoping...
