A nice cuppa may be a treat at the end of the day - but tea could also be the basis for a lotion to fight skin cancer. Early tests on animals have suggested tea can stop ultraviolet light rays damaging the skin.the American Chemical Society, say drinking tea could give the same benefits as a cream.

Yep. The study cited looked at both green and black and from them good in slightly different ways.

I had a NASTY case of athlete's foot. I tried everything but even the doc's medicine didn't work. It just got worse and worse until it looked like this:


So my wife got me to try her green tea remedy. Every night she filled a pair of socks with green tea leaves moistened with hot water. I wore them to bed for a week and presto! I was cured. Believe it or not, it's true.



By the way, I love green tea, too. Does the taste remind anyone else of that other green substance?

i'm all for japanese green tea (is there any other nationality green tea, i wonder), but as for green tea ice cream, that stuff is just HORRID! there's a shop in shinsaibashi that makes their own green tea "soft cream" and it makes the whole arcade around the shop stink of the stuff...

I found myself enjoying the Darjeeling Chocolate Chip Cookies more than the Double Choc, Vanilla or Macadamia varieties... maybe this should go in the "You know you've been in Japan too long when..."

Green tea is so full of caffeine!! If you are watching your health you should be careful of excess caffeine consumption.. it is very dehydrating.

Make your own mugi-cha from tea bags and keep it cold in the fridge.

Maybe that's how I got it. I only used external medicine. Japanese doctors will under medicate forever (except when it comes to sleeping pills, those bad daddies work!).
