Patent without product put on the market... Isn't that hoarding ?

I'd say it typical from a japanese company:
"hey, we created something usefull and creative, let's... hum... just continue making boring products from blueprint xeroxed all over the wurld"

Most IPs are only good for 10 years so it's not like they have a case against Dyson. I am still waiting for the no-pan yakiniku's patent to expire so I can start my own shop.

Some may call it a bladeless fan but what acutally pushes the air out into the ring? Ion propulsion? Magnetohydrodynamics? Caterpillar Drive (c) Red October?

Nope, just an ordinary fan facing upwards, more than likely based loosely upon a duct fan/impeller type design. If Dyson was going to charge as much for the fan, he might as well have included a negative ion generator or ozone generator....or blow gigantic bubbles....

Yeah, I'm quite curious how that first post got approved by the FG mods!

I checked out one of those fans out at Yodobashi Camera one day. Besides being way too expensive they're noisy as hell.

Are they even louder than the noise in Yodobashi Camera?

One of the original Dyson ones or a knock-off? I thought the Dyson ones were supposed to be pretty quiet...

I'm not 100% sure but it was very quiet until I turned it to the highest setting.
