Yep. I was just thinking about that yesterday, when one of the stations was running those "little kids get sent on errands" variety shows. They had a 3-year-old making a beer delivery for his dad's shop.

Folks here are shocked at the thought of underage drinking (my parents let me have wine sometimes at dinner when I was 4, but my wife thinks our 4-year-old getting a drop of beer on his tongue is grounds for dialing 119), yet kids being around alcohol barely gets a notice. Meanwhile, back home liquor stores face police involvement if a kid even walks through the door.

I'm not sure which side is more fucked up, but I'm glad to live in a country where nobody gives a shit if I'm sitting outside with a beer.
