Lucas beat Shinohara (who looks very different from her promotional photo). Lucas put Shinohara in an arm bar which Shinohara was fighting but her corner threw in the towel. Shinohara obviously wasn't happy with that decision and punched her corner man in the face! Very classy.

by all fuckin means! she was out of the arm bar after she heel kicked lucas in the face. she was almost laying side by side and shinohara could have slipped a knee bar/ankle lock, done more heel kicks, or even move into top mount right from there.

very shit decision by her corner. if she chooses to have her arm snapped, fine. she did a good job defending 2 arm triangle attempts (lucas didnt know how to/want to finish it) and did fairly well defending when lucas controlled her left arm around her head.

I agree that she was probably OK and not in danger of getting her arm broken. However, a fighter's corner shouldn't allow their fighter to get her arm broken if she refuses to tap.

well.. if this was a grade school competition, i might agree with that, but this is a combat sport... the fighter has to know their limits.

she was defending her self quite well and any good corner that saw what she was doing would have noticed her shoulder position... quite clear that it wasn't set in and if the shoulder was in place, she would not have been able to kick her in the face...

what i think happened was when lucas rolled back into the arm bar from top mount, the corner called out at ref and when lucas got kicked in the face the ref had to call it as the towel was thrown. then when the corner saw lucas get kicked in the face... they realized that they shouldn't have thrown the towel...

wouldn't be surprised if she changed camps... with her defense she showed vs top mount and that arm bar attempt, quite sure another training camp will take her up if she called.

Fighters don't always make the best choice in the heat of battle which is why the corner has the right to throw in the towel. Also, it's bad business for a gym if their fighter gets an injury that ends his career or stops him from fighting for a long time. In the end it's about money not honor.
