Some fruitflies have chemicals in their ejeculate that causes a previous male's sperm which is stored in the spermotheca of the female to be extruded, so that the new guy gets more of his goo in her. Some cactophilic flies also only transfer a few sperm per mating, and these fuckers (the sperm) are pretty damn large. Other flies species have a mean copulation time of over 5 hours (I love my exoskeleton penis). And as I recall, in one species of flying insect, the male locks himself into the female (and may even die while buried in her), so that other males can't get a shot at her. I guess you could call this marriage.
