Domino's Pizza Japan asked Maeda Construction's Fantasy Marketing Department to estimate how much it would cost to build a branch on the moon. Maeda says it would be around Y1.67 trillion. A spokesman for Domino's said the company couldn't judge whether it was a fair estimate but it seemed cheaper than they expected. The 3-storey pizzeria moonbase includes accommodation and manufacturing equipment for raw materials. Maeda has assumed that the moon can provide the 4,850 tons of concrete required but estimates the remaining supplies and construction equipment can be transported in 15 different launches at a cost of Y560 billion. Presumably, with no visas required on the moon, cheap foreign labour can be used throughout.
