Favorite/Best Alcohol

For just a daily can of booze around the office, my choice is Sapporo Black Label or -196 Strong Zero Grapefruit Chu-hi.

Pouring one for myself at home, my favorites right now are Ardbeg 10-year and Eagle Rare bourbon, straight or with ice.

I'm watching my girlish figure, so Chuhi. I just drink beer when I go to bars. I'm a firm believer that Japanese are genetically predisposed to be awful bartenders (unless you go to one of those quiet, semi-nice bars where presentation trumps practicality). Beer is pretty hard to fuck up.

Don't really have any favorite brands. I'm not that picky.

But when it comes to whisky, I try my best to stay away from JB, JD, Johnny Walker, the cheapest Suntory, and Black Nikka.

Yeah, this. Somehow my wines never seem to make past... scratch that, even up to their one year maturation... not that they're alcoholic to my knowledge...

Yeah, the yonayona group put out some rock solid beers. I'm partial to their Ao-oni IPA myself, packs a hefty hoppy bitter punch to the nuts, but some of us like that sort of thing. Probably one of the more distinct IPAs out there.

i cant believe no one is hyping shochu. so cheap here and with water or tea super low hangover factor.

i feel the opposite of the guy who says bartenders would fuck up anything but beer. i feel like hard stuff because its taxed less they can pour some stuff drinks at the right places (not karaoke or nomihoudai) but beer they fucking charge 5-600 yen for a small glass with extra foam added on purpose

for me its shochu and tea all the way - when im here, otherwise, I could list a bunch of other favorites. I hear 4 roses bourbon they sell here is actually legit. A japanese group bought a kentucky distillery yrs ago and a bourbon lover friend of mine says its under rated (cheesy packaging?)

This is usually my philosophy as well, though I tend to stick with simple drinks and beer at bars here as most everything else seems to get watered down.

Shochu and water....first time I ever had that, I was on my third and asking them when they were going to bring out the alcohol haha. Almost odorless/tasteless I tell yah!
