I will probably say this to my boys someday, "Boys, Japanese people do X cause they are Japanese... since you are "not" Japanese, do X but this way so you can actually achieve something from it. If the Japanese praise your success, tell them it is because of your American spirt, if they ask how you were able to do it, say cause the FG half of you is stronger than the Yamato half, if they are knocking on your failures, say it is because you are Japanese and one day you might have a chance at succeeding, but will ganbare until you do so."

Most of the Japanese/foreign mixed friends I have didn't need to be told the "We Japanese" way of doing things isn't always right and to believe so is retarded. When you grow up with two cultures and one is as closed off and with a superiority complex like Japan, the conflict probably arrives daily. Eventually you'll start hearing questions like "Why does Ryota do it this way when he could just do it this way?"
