Bad News for Japan (Japanese)
... a link between shitty dental care and Alzheimer's.

According to the way I misread the report in Japanese, Alzheimer's is caused by the hippocampus of the brain producing "Protein 15"---some sort of "amyloid beta"---that accumulates in the brain and causing memory impairment: This is exacerbated by individuals having bad/missing teeth.
Better dental care suppresses the, "stimulation that bad or missing teeth transmit to the brain." The research team said that, "with better dental health reduces that stress" (whether or not the amyloid beta proteins are present) and could aid in the prevention and treatment of Alzheimer's disease.(Please correct my lame understanding.)

Is this (what the "researchers" did) more or less like correlating gray hair with heart disease and cataracts? Just saying.

I thought it was the research in the 1990s into the link between male pattern balding and heart disease which was funded by the company that made minoxidil (Rogaine's chief ingredient)?

Thanks! That's what I was unable to recall very clearly. Must be that fight that knocked my tooth out gone and gave me alkaseltzer disease.

I've read some things recently about studies in the US that show a link between poor dental hygiene and both dementia and heart disease. It's because of the bacteria that build up between your teeth.
