Dish Network has TV Japan, a slightly more interesting version of NHK. Good drama's, Sumo, some baseball and a whole lot of boring cooking shows. $30 per month for the dish and the one NHK channel.

You don't need to get a satelite dish to get that channel.

Some cable companies are starting to offer that channel. But I cant find its website.

This is what I get on my cable. I used to have cable internet too but they have sold that service out to another company.

Dish Network is what I use to get J-TV the Colorado WITH dedicated PC a el-cheapo Windoze frame grabber to "borrow" images. I KNOW that Vince MUST get a PVR and/or dedicated frame-grabber to capture those all the JPN Tissue Time on Saturday night videos for his Pongi needs.

At my place on the North Side of Chicago I use cable TV and cable broadband from Ameritech $49.95 / month (free cable modem and no bag-biting annual contract).

NOTE: Dish Network and Ameritech cable TV only provide 2 or 3 JPN channels....generally Fuji TV and NHK :(

Fuji TV is a regular non-cable channel here, but I drop by JBC Video real often - they have all kinds of TV shows for rent - just wondered if programs might be beaming out of the sky!!

Basically, ya gotta be in LA or New York to get a bunch of J-TV channels. Otherwise, cable is providing Japanese housewives with their NHK soap operas, TBS 24-hr news in Japanese, and Fuji. But hey what do I know... when I'm in the Real World the LAST thing I wanna see is Jpn TV. :x

FYI,
Ameritech sold its cable TV business after SBC bought the company.

So it isnt Ameritech anymore. I think its Wide Open West
