I didn't want to create a new thread and since the news regarding hacking has been the flavor of the month I decided to post the following here:

LulzSec Leaks Hundreds of Classified Arizona Police Documents in Attack Against Border Patrol

Sam Biddle — Lashing out against the "racial profiling anti-immigrant police state that is Arizona," LulzSec has released their newest data dump: "hundreds of private intelligence bulletins, training manuals, personal email correspondence, names, phone numbers, addresses and passwords belonging to Arizona law enforcement."

The release, entitled "Chinga La Migra" (Fuck the Border Patrol) is the first time LulzSec's purported to release personal information of government agents, rather than just disrupting their websites (see: CIA, US Senate). This is a powerful move. Home addresses are home addresses—about as personal as personal data gets. LulzSec's also clearly placed a political motive behind this thrust, as opposed to the HACK HACK LMAO ethos we've seen before.

And LulzSec says this is just the start:

Every week we plan on releasing more classified documents and embarassing [sic] personal details of military and law enforcement in an effort not just to reveal their racist and corrupt nature but to purposefully sabotage their efforts to terrorize communities fighting an unjust "war on drugs".

A politically radicalized LulzSec is a big step away from the crew that was pissed off about videogames.

Sony: Seeking endless ways to fuck things up.

Their latest fail.

Sony Refuses to Pay for 3D Glasses: Will You?
Techland - TIME.com | 2011/09/28/
...
Sony will stop paying for the glasses, necessary to view their 3D releases, starting in May 2012. Currently, studios pay somewhere between $1.5 million and $10 million per movie for 3D glasses, depending on the scale of the release, passing some of that cost on to the moviegoer via increased ticket prices. Sony's refusal to continue to pay for the glasses after May 1, 2012...more...

Newsflash... 3d movies sucks... they sucked in the 60' sucked in the 70' sucked in the 80' we had a rest period in the 90' 00' but once again they try to shovel that yurd on the consumer...

The only interesting movies in 3D are porn and those idol live concert where you can spend 2 hours trying to peek under their skirts...

Alot of the newer 3D screens don't require glasses. (my cell phone doesn't) Just a matter of time before they can pull it off in theaters. (anything to save $$ haha)

Considering that 3D film ticket prices already cost more than traditional film tickets this bone headed move will probably accelerate the demise of the 3D phenomenon.

All the while Korean companies start buying them out and play it more reasonable.

I certainly agree that in the technology/electronics space Korean companies have usurped the position of Japanese companies that were historically dominant. Perhaps not so much in video games, but there are numerous other examples.

mind you that they have already took up manga... and seeing how big kandura blew up for the j-wives.. k-manga might do the same...

then comes all the video game spin offs.. not to mention that Korean gamers are top tier in Tekken and Starcraft... it wouldn't be odd to say that kroeans will take the game developing market and expand more than japan in 20 years or so.

as long as the chinese dont dominate it too many other markets... we are all halfway safe.

Yeah, I think the Japanese position in the video game space is far from unassailable. Most of the innovative games are coming from Western studios in any case, mostly from the US. Even notable Japanese game designers in Japan have lamented the state of the Japanese gaming industry.

Yep, and now with the Yen so strong, watch Korea own Japan further

They tried here too but all the Koreans they hired to make video games were found to be too addicted to Starcraft to be productive.

i played against him once in an arcade... i thought i was doing quite well until he got to a quarter of life left and just schooled me... i didn't know it was him until i looked to see who kicked my ass...

after that i palyed 3rd Strike cause i didn't feel like spending JPY1000 getting my ass kicked...

Really need to get back in the game though... Final Rand Bat is coming up!

EDIT: It is Final Round Bat....

I've only seen him play on videos uploaded to the interwebs.

A few years back I was at Shibuya Kaikan and Shibuya Sports Land about 3 or 4 nights a week... SF3TS and CVS2 all night long... Met a lot of people, got drunk as shit... but the good thing was that I was much better at those games than SF4.. so I only spent like JPY500 on the arcade and another JPY1000 on booze.

Gooooooood Times

That's the thing about going to a game center.

Everyone assumes the gaijin is gonna lose and put their money down on the gaijin's side stating they got next.

Thing is, with Tekken or Soul Calibur, I,,,WILL,,,DESTROY
Well, at least back then. Fun times in the late 90s/

I haven't seen SC out here... but Tekken... them damn Koreans are just... mad good.

I play Tekken also... Lars, Steve, Jack 6... but got really bored of the game play after years of playing it...

i have probably watched that... 50 times...

so epic, not the actual execution, but final round of the final set... Justin Wong still crys when he sees that probably LOL

I went to evo the year after (EVO2k5) but didn't get to see him do anything epic like that... atcually... nothing epic was done that year besides Japan getting the shit kicked out of them in Tekken and MvC2... which is not epic, but normal...
