This 15m Christmas tree in Ginza's Matsuya Department Store hangs from the ceiling like a festive stalactite.

Ooh ... an upside-down Christmas tree!
Sorta like an upside-down crucifix? How satanic!

(My ingrained image of Christmas-tree normalcy made it really difficult to figure out what was going on in that photo at first).

Damn, upside-down Christmas trees have been a pretty standard "goof" for decades.:hehe:

Hey, at least it was type of "goof" on a Xmas tree...:(

Holy crap! That could have happened for real!
That's terrifying (I guess that's why they call them "terrorists"). So how many other kids who don't have their heads screwed on straight are looking for opportunities to blow innocent people to smithereens for a "cause" that isn't even grounded in reality and that they can't possibly understand?

Really, that's scary.

Ahh come on Hammer. You gots to be PC here. Since Christmas is not celebrated in Islam, it is obvious that we are not being correct in celebrating it as it makes Muslims uncomfortable. Therefore, it is only logical that they would want to blow up a Christmas Tree lighting party and kill every swinging dick, woman or kid in the area. By allowing them to do this, we are able to show our wonderful religious tolerance to them (even if they could give a fuck less). This also makes all the PC gourmets feel wet and fuzzy.....

I'm not so sure about this. Since they seem to be running around blowing mosques full of people to bits in Iraq and Pakistan as well, I can't help wondering who they consider to be the enemy and what the fuck they're trying to accomplish in the first place.

Maybe they just enjoy blowing stuff up.

A bunch of hormone-overloaded kids with mega-stiffies who can't get laid but have been offered access to willing virgins if they just blow themselves up and take a few innocent bystanders with them. Yeah, I can see how that might work.

Japanese guy plays Christmas carols on his vegetables.

He's got other videos with different vegetables, different tunes too.

Everyone from Livescience.com to Gizmodo to The Independent are covering this...

An aquarium in Japan is shocking visitors with its Christmas display - using an eco-friendly electric eel to illuminate the lights on its holiday tree.

Each time the eel moves, two aluminium panels gather enough electricity to light up the 2-metre tall tree, decked out in white, in glowing intermittent flashes.

The aquarium in Kamakura, just south of Tokyo, has featured the electric eel for five years to encourage ecological sensitivity.

This year, it added a Santa robot that sings and dances when visitors stomp on a pad...

It was on the Hanukkah Card I sent him. It reminds me of the cute little girl scouts that sell their cookies around Christmas.
