Docomo - Spam filter worthless

Crazed Lemur elder has blown up my phone with spam of all kinds imaginable. Lately it' getting to the point that my phone's battery is taking a beating. I'm really trying to avoid changing my mail addy but Docomo's spam filter, even with the "block all mails with URLs" setting on, is completely worthless. Any suggestions on blocking this tsunami of Spam?

Ime the only way to stop it is to make your address "yournumber@docomo.ne.jp" which kind of fucks you as then only other docomo subscribers can mail you as far as I know.

Comprehension fail there, Choko can fix it by changing his number. Keeping his present number is a non-starter. That has been thoroughly spamminated like a bukkake convention.

Googled it, and "spamminated like a bukkake convention" has no hits. You have coined a descriptive phrase....something I didn't need to read and contemplate the meaning of at 8:30am.

I changed the settings so it only allows incoming mail from mobile phone addresses. Any time I am expecting mail from anything besides a phone, I have to add the address or domain to the "white list".

This totally stopped spam, but it means I miss a bit of legitimate mail when I forget to update my white list. My bank apparently was trying to send me notifications for quite a while saying "you have no money", though I really didn't need those missing emails to realize it...

There is a setting that rejects mail that doesn't pass a reverse DNS lookup test.

I suggest you go to the DOCOMO shop and get them to set up the filters for you.

LOL, indeed! No, Benz girl is awesome. This is some crazy bitch that I rejected. Although I tend to follow Greji's method line of reasoning when it comes to that, it was more like getting hungry and coming across a Matsuya next to all you can eat shabu shabu. I'll eat at Matsuya, it's cheap, quick, and satisfies....but when you have the choice, who isn't going to choose shabu shabu? Unfortunately, this Matsuya took it personally when I chose the shabu shabu.

Apparently she used it as a contact on a bunch of deai sites and I had a ton of weirdo guys mailing me asking for sex. After that died down, it's been wave after wave of spam from various deai to companies trying to hire girls for "baito" in their spare time haha.

Might be worth a try at a larger shop...last one I went to said the spammers were "hacking" and hiding the URL's from their filter. I translated that as "our filter is worthless" and I would have been a harder customer if I had more time.

Ahh with more detail it is how I suspected: your e-ddress is out in the wild and frankly no spam filter based on sender's address will do any good, unless you are prepared to go the route omae mona suggested. Basically, that is limiting you to receive e-mail from the docomo.ne.jp, ezweb.ne.jp domains and the softbank/vodafone/J phone constellation.

By the way, the method is old. Maybe you have been lucky, or chosen the right lemurs so far.

That said, Docomo's spam filter has been rubbish from the beginning. I would believe it if someone said that they had deliberately made it slack to boost revenue from before the days of unlimited data packages.

I tend to let the lemurs think they're letting me go on their terms (perception is EVERYTHING) to avoid situations like this but to be a little more detailed, this biatch flaked on me once before so I didn't think twice before blowing her off. Anyhow, yeah, I could block the non jappy-keitai addy mails but quite a bit of the spam originates from them so while it may cut down on the percentage of spam, it won't eliminate it. I really want to avoid changing mail addresses though...

She's sent a few mails here and there to test her attack's effectiveness. I responded by laughing at her and telling her she's wasting her time. (which pissed her off more but she did stop signing up for those deai sites with my mail addy) Show no weakness! Take away the rewards from her "work" and watch the frustration manifest itself!

All my spam comes from Docomo themselves...
