Anti-Christmas Demo

Postby Mulboyne » Sun Dec 25, 2011 10:18 am

Image

15 people took part in a "Down With Christmas" demo in Shibuya yesterday. They describe themselves as "jilted men" who feel excluded by commercialized dating events such as Valentine's Day, White Day and Christmas Eve. It's apparently the fifth time this group has demonstrated against Christmas. Onlookers in Shibuya seemed amused by their protest.

Not to worry, these 15 people will be eating Kentucky Fried Chicken together in order to to emphasize their inclusion in today's society.

Sheeet...near as I can tell these guys get together three times a year, walk around in a group complaining about the same thing, and afterwards probably get blitzed drunk together. Sounds like a reasonable male bonding session to me and probably cheaper than having to buy presents and/ pay for or prepare dinners, and definitely is easier than dealing with the stress of juggling multiple girls around.

Protests tend to be useless in the first place...but I'd hardly call this a protest as much as it is a cry for help. "We ain't got no game! Don't rub it in our face 3 times a year!"
SDH "cut your dick off! It's only going to get you in more trouble!"

I don't consider fried chicken sauce spilled on a keyboard 'convenient' or 'practical'... but then again I wipe my keyboards 10 times a day with alcohol tissues to try to keep then as mate finished as new... (fooking apple design)

So my inlaws had xmas dinner... had everyone over and what not... then when it was time for presents my father in law refused to hand them out cause he is bunkyo and xmas has nothing to do with him.

i upped it a notch and asked what bunkyo was (i was a bit tipsy at the time and wanted to make some fun out of it) so everyone explained to me what it was... i then said, what does that have to do with giving presents to your grandkids?... silence... he then sat down and didn't say shit for the rest of the dinner.

mind you, he was a complete fuck throughout the whole night while everyone was preparing dinner, the kids having fun with their new 3ds and psp games... but he just wanted to be a negative nancy about kurisumasu...

seriously though, you bitch about xmas but when it comes to the "japanese" holidays, rather then going to his dads grave, etc. he goes to fuckin nagano to ski...

that was a short anit-kurisumasu gig he had. mom inlaw loved kurisumasu, she got a bran spankin new lap top from dad inlaw... thats prolly why he was such an ass.

It sounds like he's a big douche. My family is buddhist but we celebrate Get Presents Day on the 25th of December just like everyone else.

Gotta agree with you. Old what's-her-name's late parents were both extremely devoted buddhists, who frequently donated time and money to the their favorite temple. Yet, they celebrated Xmas annually with a tree and presents for the kids and grandkids every year.

Sounds more like he was a double douche.

This isn't funny. I know the second guy in that picture. I know this group and support their actions. We don't need Christmas in Japan.

Xmas, spending money for presents and eating out at restaurants, thereby assisting the economy, yeah that's a bad idea.

It creates the kind of compulsion that ruins the original meaning of Christmas. Spending money on impulse is a big part of the problem. Look at the U.S.A.

How do you feel about Halloween ?

and yes, keep your grubby hands off my culture, you don't understand it, you turn it into a superficial commercial parody, and litter your country with garbage.

F%##k you.

Your culture? I think I got a pretty good grasp of your culture....whoever the F%#k you are? I think I know who this is.....

Nothing about my interpretation of Japan is superficial or commercial. A little risqué, but not superficial.
