Crappy Delta Airlines Service Leads to Violence

Postby Samurai_Jerk » Tue Jan 10, 2012 6:16 pm

Unruly air passenger from Japan arrested in Hawaii

According to a criminal complaint filed in U.S. District Court, Sohei Yamanouchi hit the flight attendant once with an open hand and once with a closed fist after drinking multiple glasses of wine.

Officials say the flight attendant was not seriously injured.

OK, maybe he was just a drunk prick but I've often wanted to smack the staff working for US-based airlines.

LOL, not so sure about Delta but I avoid United as much as possible...grandma's and gay men with attitudes do not great customer service make. ANA was also seriously shitty this last trip.

Sohei Yamanouchi convicted of assaulting Delta flight attendant but walks after fine

Only $2,500 and no jail time - plus no remorse.

Passenger accused of slapping flight attendant sentenced

Published: 1/13 10:59 am

65-year-old Sohei Yamanouchi walked with his family into court, pleading guilty to misdemeanor assault, but claiming he did not hit the flight attendant.

During the hearing he said, "I didn't hit the woman, but I did touch her." Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael Song disagreed saying about Mr. Yamanouchi, "I believe he is minimizing his actions."

Yamanouchi told Judge Richard Puglisi that he was trying to sleep on the Delta flight, and that the flight attendant and other passengers were having a loud conversation, not allowing him to rest.

Yamanouchi said he confronted the flight attendant, "I touched her, and to warn them I made a loud announcement, saying please be quiet." U.S. Attorney Song said Yamanouchi yelled for the attendant to "shut up."

The Japanese visitor admitted to having drank alcohol on the plane, but said he was not drunk. Song disagreed and said, this is "probably why alcohol should be banned on flights."

Yamanouchi left the courthouse after paying a $2,500 fine, which is what federal authorities were asking.

He could have gotten six months in jail and up to a $10,000 fine.

FUCK! That guy ALOT looks like the asshole that terrorized my wife on a flight from Rome one year ago. That person spend several hours kicking the back of my wifes' seat claiming that when I had got to go to the toilet that I had delibrately woke him upand given him an evil eye. The flight attentant asked us if we wanted to take him to the authorities but as we had to catch the Kansei-Itami bus to get our connection back here we didn't do anything.

Why wait until you've landed? There's plenty of noodle soup on flights to/from Japan to be accidentally spilled into laps.

Got to be a bit of a loser for using Delta anyway. Jesus, I'd rather swim than use some of these US airlines. Especially for a holiday where you can choose your airline.

That said, it's rather unusual for a Japanese chap to actually strike someone. I've only ever seen them puff their chests out and shout at each other. I guess he must have been pretty pissed.

Some middle-aged to older Japanese men are like that.

I remember a guy on a flight from Osaka to Amsterdam more than 15 years ago, who gave the stewardesses a hard time. It seems he was dissatisfied with some of their service, and he made that known by going to the galley and having extensive and loud discussions with them. Really annoying, since my seat was nearby.

Occasionally I encounter such self-righteous idiots in society too, and I deal with them by going full-throttle confrontational mode. Funny thing is, other Japanese around seem to enjoy that.

Japanese society pampers men way too much, from the fawning mothers to oppressed OLs, to the bar hostesses to ... you get the idea. Not that I mind when I'm the benefactor of the pampering, but it does tend to create quite a few precious little darlings (aka "assholes") who get all bent out of shape if they don't get what they want all the time.

really though... last time that happend to me and my wife, i got up in his face and he backed down and got off the train... but my wife... being the tough little bitch she is, got off and went after him... i had to pull my wife back in the train cause we were on the last train home (at that time I lived in Toyota all the way down the chuo line)

but knowing my temper after some booze... i probably would have kneed/headbutted someone (not a flight girl though)... gotta love them nomihodai plane rides!

I'm sure Dimwit got in his face but the guy probably didn't back down. Talking is one thing but if the d00d is straight kicking his wife (yes, even through the seat) and there's not doubt about it that it's intentional...yeah...I probably wouldn't punch but rather drag the scum out of his seat by what's left of his hair and see if he is bold enough to try something with me.
