They are the victims of what they create and participate in. They are all racist assholes. Don't be in denial about that the same way they are.

True that... I can't really say in any instance I would get joy from it...

Offing yourself is just one fucked way to go no matter who you are.

His build up had been much more subtle though. I wonder how long before he goes into full blown troll mode.

Jumping in front of a train is always fucked since it creates a mess for everyone else. Some people are probably better off dead though so I can't agree that suicide is always fucked.

Better off dead... yes i can agree. but offing yourself is not just the way they go down, but the way other people have to deal with the dead fuck.

Could be....would love to see numbers on how much suicides negatively impact the economy here. You'd think that would be enough to take the issue a little more seriously.

Train-shame death moves the Emperor

On the occasion of the recent trip of the Emperor to Kyushu, a slight railway accident took place at Moji Station (in Fukuoka Prefecture), which caused about an hour's delay in the departure of the Court train from that station.

Soon after, Shozaburo Shimizu, who at the time had been in charge of train affairs at the station, committed suicide on the Sanyo railway tracks in atonement, as it was stated in his will, for his grave remissness of duty.

This pathetic story reaching the ears of the Emperor, His Majesty has been pleased to give the sum of Y300 toward the funeral expenses, out of sympathy for the bereaved family.

An intimation of the Imperial graciousness has been transmitted to the family by the Minister of the Imperial Household, through Mr. Hirai, Vice-President of the Railway Board.

In those days you could buy a freaking castle for 23 Yen, and a pretty damned impressive one at that.

Yes, I know that was scrap price, but they couldn't even make it economic to pull it down for that amount, which is why it can be World heritage today. But I love this fact all the same.

You'd think they would have fenced the track and set up barriers on the platform by now.

They've begun the process at a few stations but even that has taken them how many years? Needs to be less teeth sucking and more of the upper management tightening their belts (as opposed to loosening them for deli-health)

Suicides are one thing but the lack of barriers can probably be attributed to plenty accidental deaths/injuries....in most countries, the railways would be facing massive lawsuits.

Lack of barrier separating the public from moving trains is one of the insanity that I can't really understand in a world where every item sold is stuffed full with warning stickers and idiot proof locks...

For Shinkansen stations it might be somewhat still ok... but for subway !? between the number of trains and the quantity of public in a tight space... Seriously guys... time to act...Public roads are limited to 40 or 50 when their is proximity to pedestrian while cars can stop quick or serve while trains gets a free ride...
