Internet troubles

Postby canman » Thu Jan 26, 2012 9:18 am

Is anybody having internet trouble this morning? Things are really weird! I can sometimes connect, but most sites I get an error the server was not available, but I can connect only to Japan Today's site. Don't know what's up if it is my system or not, thank goodness I have my trusty iPhone so I can still get my FG fix!

Yes Canman, same here.

You on OCN B Flets?

Seems to be fixed now, but although I was able to connect to Japanese sites and sites in Australia OK, sites in the US or UK were inaccessible, including FG.com and Facebook.

Hammer, I'm with Plala Bflets, but I guess it is all the same thing! Damn you NTT, you are really beginning to piss people off, no cell phone signals, no Internet, what are they doing!

Yep, but it just came back on now (9:30 am).
I was able to access sites in Japan, and some overseas sites (which I'm guessing have mirror sites here), and my mail server located overseas was also down.
I'm on Plala/NTT B Fletz down south. Chatted with a friend up in Kanto that had the same problem.
My Softbank phone worked over 3G though.

Yeah, I was able to connect with my BlackBerry (NTT), but it sounds like B Flets was fucked pretty much everywhere.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Backhoe#Backhoe_fade ??

There is a saying in zee industry stating that you should always travel with a strand of fiber optic network cable.
If you get stranded on a deserted island, you just need to burry it in the sand... And in the next hour a guy with a backhoe will come to dig it out...

Same problem here (Flets/OCN), seemed to affect sites in N. America/Europe. Glad it wasn't just me. Connecting via Emobile/Asahinet was fine.

I was out having a few at one of my local watering holes last night and a couple of the Japanese guys there told me that Docomo phones were having some issues yesterday.

Oh, what a complete fuggup!
I chose to update my UK internet banking log on system this morning 'cause they've changed their log on method. They now require customers to use a password generator which they sent me last week.
I kept getting timeouts, and now I get refused log ins. I have to wait until this evening to phone them and try to sort it out.
