73 Japanese kids fall ill on Air NZ flight

All passengers have now been released after an Air New Zealand plane landed at Auckland Airport with children with flu-like symptoms on-board.
The alarm was raised when a group of 73 children arrived into Auckland off NZ90 from Narita, Tokyo, at 9.20 this morning with the symptoms.
. . .the 73 children were part of a group of 90 Japanese students who were heading to Tauranga on a home-stay trip.

Kids are walking petrie dishes.

Good to know they are all ok though.

But it could be that there were only a few that were really sick and the others just joined in as good little Japanese conformists.

Still cant get a decent flu shot in this cuntry... how about using some of this good ol' western medicine for a chance? no... too much chemicals :confused:

Errr. That wasn't the flu. Food poisoning is my guess.

China Air(sumthing) was quite a nightmare too... especially after 1 week of Vietnamese food... I'd rather have vending masheen...

Given this is a story from NZ (and unable to watch the video with sound on), I was wondering if perhaps someone misinterpreted what happened.
Considering the only news that ever happens in the Land of the Long White Cloud is support for apartheid, getting ships blown up by Frenchies and All Black captains crying when their teammates slap them with handbags, I thought maybe the station was reporting that the Japanese kids got "L" on a plane (noteworthy topic, I'm sure you'll agree, considering the rarity of that occurrence), but because Kiwis pronounce their vowels the way they do, it made out as though the kids were sick. (Although an Enzedder saying kids are "sick" also opens up the opportunity for some pretty gruesome thinking...)
