Japan Immigration Begins Religious Oppression

Postby Mulboyne » Tue Feb 21, 2012 6:00 pm

A 26 year old Korean woman has been detained by Tokyo immigration for working outside the terms of her visa. In Japan on a missionary visa sponsored by the Tokyo Christian Church of Life, she was actually working as a prostitute for a deriheru in Gunma. She says she had debts at home and decided to work them off in Japan. Two men, a clergyman and another missionary, have also been detained. The clergyman is suspected of providing fake missionary credentials for another 7 or 8 Korean women.

Reminds me of the guy I saw in the immigration office 2 decades back, who took along 10 young Thai women to apply for such visas. I believe he got them all...

Oh yeah, that was part of the ritual back in the day...drinking beers somewhat covertly while watching pinkieless men with stacks of Philippine passports haggle with the counter staff at immigration. Good times!

My last renewal in Nagoya 5-6 years ago was exactly like that, with the gurls bouncing of his arm... It was a big WTF moment...

I think you mean the "entertainer" visa.
6000 females from Thailand and the Philippines have them.
4 times more than the men, but most of them are probably working as "females" as well.

Those priests just had to sign them up as "choir singers" instead of "missionaries" and everything would have been fine.

Actually, I meant prostitution visa, with an ironic undertone. Of course, these are not available, but my point was that whatever visa one has, it will always be violated when one engages in prostitution.

Don't forget toy boy husband...

Or maybe you should see thing differently... like... maybe the fact that prostitution is a job like any other... and a pretty good one compared to be a cleanup worker in fukushima Daiichi (for example)... much more honorable than sleeper agent for some nameless intelligence service. And thousand time more useful to the overall well behing of the society than the elevator girls in Takashimaya...

I read you. But I've always assumed that the "entertainer" visa basically IS the prostitution visa. Just as long as it is being done in an organized form run by people who can give bribes to the appropriate officials. There's no way in hell Japan has a legitimate need for thousands of SE Asian female "entertainers".. except as "dancers" in titty bars and the like. Of course, no prostitution going on there...:p

Immi has "cracked down" on entertainer visas, but the effect just seem to show that they've only cut down the number of such visas by half.. rather than to zero. Wonder why.

Meanwhile Japan hands out a few dozen refugee visas a year, and is struggling to just admit a few hundred SE Asian nurses, but kicking them out after 3 years. Priorities are a fucking joke. (Well as long as they keep deporting over-privileged white assholes, at least they're doing one thing right.)

you just need to slip 'em a tenner to get them to take you to that undocumented floor that can only be accessed through the locked service panel.

I saw plenty of movies like this... and there is absolutely no happing ending whatsoever... ever...

(hidden floors scares me... but at least confuse me less than usual parking place numbering with all the forbidden/cursed numbers...)

Scratching my head over this sentence.

Do you mean "as long as they continue deporting over-privileged white assholes", of which the most recent example known to all of us is a former NHK employee?

Or do you mean "as long as they keep from deporting over-privileged white assholes", in which case there is a counterexample in the form of a former NHK employee?

How's this for a theory
