Nissan's chief executive, Carlos Ghosn, has spoken of the high potential of the Datsun brand, under which most of Nissan's cars and trucks were sold outside Japan since the company's inception in 1934. Nissan quit using the Datsun brand in 1981, but it remains a household name in the United States, the Middle East and many parts of Asia.

I don't know what the hell Goshn is trying to do except for fucking with Renault once again... (like putting the infinity brand on the Red Bull Renault...)

India and Russia are 2 markets where Renault is already stepping in, even selling a Renault Branded nissan March, or ar usual Renault branded Dacias. There is no need to bring Datsun in, the group is already there...



Luckily the new #2 of the group Carlos Tavares seems to be a more loyal guy... So these shit might have to stop one day...

The idea is to attract buyers who could otherwise not afford a Renault or Nissan by offering a cheap car. Lowering the prices of Renaults or Nissans is considered a bad strategy because it erodes the name values of the brands.
