Marriage is simple...if she swallows, think about marrying her.
The reason? If she's averse to swallowing when you're young and virile, she sure as shit aint gonna be around to clean your undies after you've shit your pants when you're Greji's age and at a similar state of decrepitation.
If she does that, just do whatever she tells you. Women are shitloads smarter than guys. She'll love you for it, will stop nagging when she gets what she wants and you'll be getting headjobs.

never take marriage advise from people with good marriages... it aint like biz tips from a corporate top dog... different beast.

matchmaking is like poker, you got your hand and the river, if your hand looks bad, you fold. when you got a good hand, bet in and follow the river, but fold if you aren't doing good down the line.

so when you got the lucky girl, stay with her. she will change down the line, but if you play your hand right, you'll be ok.

struggling with my first marriage, but we are both doing what we need to do to get our kids grown up and educated.

Something I've wanted to ask.

When your Jgal has moved to your country, how easy/hard was her transition into the workforce?

Yep, all relevant but each person would have a different story to tell.

If she does not have adequate language skills for the cuntry you move to, it limits her employment prospects. If you live near a large city with international business opportunities (Japanese corporate presence) that helps too. (eg San Francisco vs. Omaha). Can always be a waitress at an Asian restaurant.

Whoa whoa whoa, I never said it was easy. Like many things in life, the concept is simple and if you stay focused, most can pull it off...but if it was easy, we wouldn't need our man caves and bars ;)

I think I was misleading.

"Not always that easy" = "Not always possible".
I was using the colloquial phrase which I know can be lost in the interwebs sometimes.

When your Jgal has moved to your country, how easy/hard was her transition into the workforce?

of course... i was extending your question to the OP...

Ms. IPU:
what cuntry? = USofA, CA
how many Japanese are there? = not sure... i get them mixed up with all the Chinese, Vietnamese, and other Chinese people there... j/k, enough to have the State wanting Japanese speakers and sponsoring visas.
can she speak Engrish? = No... thank god (me no likes eigo whores)
does she like FGs? = she did before i knocked her up (twice)
does she like Japan > FG Land? = LOL great questions... yar.

so from the above responses... my wife would (will) hate living in the US...

Solution? give her more money to spend and get the kids out at grandma's so she can have her free time.

hopefully it will work...

It'd be cruel to take a Japanese woman and make her live anywhere where there isn't a large Japanese community. Stick to the coasts (or hawaii). Heck, I don't see what anyone sees in "middle america" anyway, but it'd be a particularly poor choice for any bi-cultural family.

We live in a little beach town just south of san francisco. We came over here when the kids were little so my wife didn't work at first (I was riding high in dot com income at the time...so she didn't need to work either). Then she did some waitressing on the side for a few years and then eventually started working in special education for elementary school age kids with either severe physical handicaps or autism. She did that for several years until school budget cuts made her nervous about the long term prospects of public school employment... She now teaches preschoolers at a private international (i.e. japanese-english) school. She has degrees in physical education and early childhood education and was a preschool teacher in Japan back in the day so she's now gone back to that instead of the special education stuff.

Piece of cake.

We're on the coast, in Pacifica, but basically anywhere on the San Francisco peninsula and down to San Jose will provide plenty of Japanese friends and employment opportunities for Japanese people.

I'm more interested in education for my son, who is special needs. ADHD out the ass... and his English leaves a lot to be desired. My guess is we will relocate here sometime when he is around 7 or 8.

We do not know his son's situation, neither are we doctors, but I share your surprise.

I get the impression that Gaijinpunch should spend more time with his son, instead of on FG. That would improve his son's English too (and the prospect of his kid to become member of FG in the future...). ;)

Lots of angles to the ADHD thing. Education system that packs 40 young children into rows of desks and expects them to quietly focus on a lecture then work on their textbook for 45 minute stretches, cutbacks that put more kids in the classroom and allow fewer teaching assistants, nurses, counselors, and other support staff. Age differentials, where some students were born nearly a year later than other classmates. In a class of six-year-olds, the ones born near the start of the school year are about a year older than the ones born near the end. Makes a huge difference in behavior at that young age. Diet is another problem. An increasing trend to fill the kids exculsively with carbohydrates, and feed them virtually no natural fats. Take cholesterol away from brain development and immune function, and you are courting problems. These are but a few of the issues...

Not really sure how you can make the one statement, and the other. Anyway, I'll tone down my response as it seems you're just having a laugh, but I make 95% of my FG posts from work (where I am now). I have better things to do on the weekends and nights. I should also state his Japanese is not that good either. Speech in general he is bad at. We thought he was autistic for a while. DIdn't start talking until he was about 3 years 9 months. It doesn't flow. We think we're out of woods on Autism, but not so much on the former two. He has pretty text book behaviors of both: memorization ability is fucking crazy (was spelling before he was 3 -- a full year before he could talk), is into math now, even though he's been in preschool about 2 months, burns about 2x calories a day of normal kids from running around like a maniac. The physical behavior has been like that since he was mobile. Skipped walking and went to running.

There's a ton more to it, and over the months I may disclose some, but at the moment, I'm not really at liberty to air out my laundry just yet.

Uh, yes. It's quite apparent. My sister even, whom is quite qualified to make the decision. My ward gives us a small stipend. The question is does he have Aspbergers or not. As Mike said, there are many angles (and plenty of behavioral ones I'm not going to go into), but he is special needs, there's no question. He redefines hyper, and won't sit still even in small groups. (He's just turned 5, btw). He has a special handler at his kindergarten. It's a bit of a beta test. He was rejected from every other school and if this one dissed him, we'd have to send him to special school.

Anyway... back to your regularly scheduled minutia.
