Police have launched an investigation after seven dead cats were found on train tracks in Yokohama between Jan 1 and Jan 21.

Station staff say that the bodies were found on the Yokohama Line near Kikuna Station. Police believe there is a high probability that the cats were immobilized before being left on the track, NTV reported.

According to station staff, the animals were left on the track in the early hours of the morning.

Catching cats in my neighborhood would be easy -just dress up like an old bitty and act like you are going to feed them.

The treatment of animals in many Asian cultures differs greatly from that of Western society.
About forty years ago I found a dog lying at the side of the road after having been run over. It was obvious by it's injuries that the poor mutt was in pain dying. I did what I though was the kindest thing, and ended it's suffering.
You wouldn't believe how long it took to convince the neighbors that I wasn't some sort of weirdo who killed defenseless animals.
Apparently, an animal dying in pain, is no different than a human in the same situation.
In Western societies it appears that humans should suffer until the end comes.Whereas animals needn't if a human is conveniently at hand to end the suffering?
In Asian societies, every life should endure suffering until the end!
