"I like dirt.'

ImageImage When the grass is greener on the other side
The Japan Times: Sept. 25, 2003
...You know how Japanese commercials for laundry soap always show housewives struggling with soy sauce stains? In American detergent ads, valiant moms battle grass stains.
Now I'm living in Tokyo, where grass is scarcer than shoes in my size. The lack of lawns is not a modern, urban phenomenon; grass has always been a luxury in Japan. In feudal times, only lords had lawns. ...
...But change is afoot. There's a growing movement called "kotei shibafu-ka" promoting the planting of grass in schoolyards.

I'll never forget a commercial that used to run for Era detergent. They had a big white sheet with a variety of different stains on it, and each stain had had what it was written on it with detergent, then washed out to make a kind of white label. (Does that make any sense?) There were the usual laundry suspects - grass, dirt, etc. - and one that has been forever burned into my mind - blood.

What kind of product advertises itself as being good at getting rid of blood-stains? Exactly what segment of the population are they targeting? Donna Reed with a chainsaw and a taste for human flesh? 8O

Chicks get their period blood all over everything. I just can't stop screwing all week just cause of a little blood and that just exacerbates the whole problem. My wife has to scrub it out of towels, sheets, her panties and sometimes even my boxers.

Yeah, but it was just odd (as a kid) to see a commercial advertising how to get bloodstains out of stuff.

I didn't think so. Blood stains are pretty common. Western schools might not be the concrete jungles that Tokyo's schools are. But there's still plenty of concrete/asphalt/gravel/hard as rock summer fields for a horde of hyperactive unco kids to skin their knees/elbows/chins on.

What a load of BS - I don't!!

Plus the golden rule with blood stains is cold water and soap. As soon as you use hot water the stain will set. (I used to work in production laboratories dealing in Calf Blood and used to get covered in blood and serum on a daily basis)

That also applies for copier or laser printer toner. Using hot water can "activate" the toner much like the fuser section of the copier or printer.

We used to get the new guys at the printing company I used to work for with this. "Quick! Go wash it off with really hot water, and don't use any soap." :D

I need a blood-stain remover for my matress. Nothing works. Can't put the matress in a washing machine. I do mean major blood stains.

Just tell him to use more lube before he takes you and you won't have these problems.

j/k

Seriously though, if it's that bad, lay down a towel or something. Better to "break the mood" than have your neighbors think you're a murderer when it comes time to toss out the old mattress.

I dunno - here's a kooky suggestion.. feminine hygiene products.. you can find them at most drug stores.. they come in all shapes and sizes.. there are even special night-time ones that are thicker and are longer..

There is absolutely no excuse for major mattress blood stains. The occassional accident - sure not probs.. but really in these modern times, there is a product for everything.

If her English is not good enough to find the right product to suit her - be a supportive husband and go shopping with her and help her out. sheesh..

GomiGirl,

I was not talking about my wife. I am talking about removing the stains before she sees them. I bought a new matress in our room before we got married but throwing a matress is rather difficult where I am so I stored it. One of these days she will see it and I really don't feel like explaining the origin of the stains.

I don't give a damn what anybody says. If you have sex on a heavy flow day, anywhere besides the shower, it's likely to get messy.

GG,
After some women have children, it can become a horror show.

Someone women have an aversion to using tampons. So when they sleep at night, things WILL come loose depending on how they sleep.
I will not abide ignorant intolerance just for the sake of getting along.

But everything looks so perfect on the "Bodee Fit-oh" ads on TV. You mean real life's not like that?

Can I just politely say that you are wrong.. children or no children!!!

By "things" I suggest you mean sanitary pads/napkins.. if they are correctly used then this doesn't happen..

I suggest one of the following is happening:

1. The wrong size of pad is being used
2. The woman is wearing unsuitable underwear with the pad
3. There is a medical problem that causes flooding that needs medical attention - like NOW.

I don't think it is appropriate to discuss this any further as this is a male dominated forum and you are all probably puking into your coffee right about now.. but also, it is not good to argue with a person who actually has a uterus about uterine issues.

Maybe AO is referring to the mess immediately after having a child.
