Have you guys seens these kind of things available locally :

The idea would be to convert it for mixt use either as bicycle trailer or as car roof mounted camper (with bicycles on standby on the trunk door mounted backpack). Roof bar max load is around 30 kg don't know if it's per bar or for both this trailer is below this weight, and I don't think this limit really apply when the car is parked anyway...

Man I have to admit I watch videos ranging from guys starting fires with one stick in the rain to learning about the most ultralight tyvek shelter imaginable and I have never in my life even heard of something like that. Interesting concept though. But at that price you could get a little backpacker's tent, a whole lot more gear, and a bicycle (or possibly even a mule) trailer to stuff it all in to.

You do know that there are cars with those unfolding tents in their roofs, do you?

There used to be a model of Mazda and one of Honda STPWGN. Not sure whether these are still around.

Started with the VW shaggwagen I think...

But here the point is flexibility an piggybackability. No specisal car, and if the car get stuck can continue with trailer and bicycle only...

around 900 usd is not that much... but the transport fee will certainly be monstruous...

What about a tent trailer (only seen one or two in Japan though).
My family had one of these when I was in elementary school, most come with a little fridge, stove, seating and can sleep from 2 to 4 people.

Here's a dealer in Japan (not cheap of course)

Not excessively priced, but not as flexible, takes more storage space... And last time I went to Nissan asking them to fit a towhook (to have the back taillight cluster plug) I'm sure they were ready to have me interned at the local madhouse. (seems crappy CVTs and towing don't work well together)

But I will dig their wabsite... maybe they have enough network links to import the bicycle trailers without breaking the bank...
