Camping gear to borrow/rent

Postby GomiGirl » Thu Mar 08, 2012 3:33 pm

Planning for a camping trip to Niijima island over Golden Week and we are after some gear. We are all set up for ourselves but we have a friend who is flying in to join us so am trying to source some extra stuff for her to borrow/rent for the week so she doesn't have to lug it across on the plane.

Looking for a single/two person tent, sleeping bag and mattress roll. We have everything else for her. We are happy to pay a (modest) rental fee if you would prefer.

She (and we) are experienced and responsible campers and so know how to take care of equipment.

If anybody has anything suitable, please drop me a line.

Or if anybody wants to join us for camping, just let me know as the more the merrier. It is child friendly. There will be lots of hooping, yoga, poi, juggling as all of our circus-y friends are coming. See this link

I am taking our little one so that will be a challenge. My biggest fear is that he will run off into the bush and get lost only to be raised by wolves. Might tie a long rope to him and a tree just in case.

I'd be happy to lend you my hammock, but you'd have to pay shipping from Kobe. Also hammocks of course require two trees and I don't know if your campsite would have them.

I don't know if you're in training enough to take on hair. At the old pub I've seen him quaff a couple of pints, bend over and break out two windows and peel all the paint off the wall. He is a master in that field......

I have a few sleeping bags, and I think I should have a tent too (Bought & used it for a 2 nights camping trip 5-6 years ago) but so far I can only find a tent which is meant for just "dining in" only (according to the picture on the box) :) I am outside now, give me a day or two to see if I can find it and will get back to you here ASAP.

Found at my veranda. Box has became very old but inside is in good condition (new/ clean/ dry). Quite a big tent (about 12 kg) consist of 2 rooms at the side with a "living room" in the middle. http://www.logos.ne.jp/manual/pdf/71456530.pdf (enough for 4 person to sleep, 2 to a room)

Will just lent it if you want, just tell me where and approximately when to sent it. I will make sure all parts are in there before sending (4 Main frame are all there. but the 2 steel poles seems to be missing.. (see page 2 pic 9- the 2 steel poles that support the fly sheets & used as canopy) and some ropes..but they should be around, give me some time and I will find it.

I really like the design of that tent, kind of like you all eat and drink and then retire to your separate rooms at the end. Either two couples or a couple and children. Pretty cool.

I also have more gear GomiGirl if you are really in a pinch, pretty small very light, 3 person (really 2) backpacking tent, sleeping bags, an inflatable one person mattress and lighter sleeping mats too soon*. Problem is we use them, so I would need to know exact dates first. I think we will very likely avoid campgrounds though during GW so it may work out.

*Am currently redoing all our camping stuff so it's in a flux as to what we have. Selling off the old car camping stuff and moving towards things that can be hiked in. (Would also actually sell anybody some snow peak stuff at a great deal if anyone wants it btw.)

Tell you what...let's make a deal. I don't actually have a tent, but if you flash me your boobs and the bag is sleeping, I could probably pitch one....

Sounds like a plan Hair, but if she invites you into the sleeping bag, whatever you do, don't pull her finger no matter how sweet and coy she asks you....

Oh, she was going to try that old trick, was she? Actually, I must confess that if I was in the same situation, I'd probably do the same myself. Except, of course, it wouldn't be my finger that I'd be trying to get her to pull...

This is open to GG first, but if she is not borrowing or taking it, I am giving away the tent (beside the one I posted) there's another one meant for dining (not sure if you call that tent) I will post picture later. And lots more other giveaway stuffs but I am using this thread, so I'll just talk about outdoors' things here. The camping tent was used only once.

In case anyone looking for tents/ outdoor things for this GW or for summer holidays. Please PM me if interested.

I left... went cold turkey... after 1 month of withdrawal symptoms I can't understand why I was ever there.

The little drop too much was when they tried to enforce the "login with your real identity" stuff...

WAYYYY too much psychopath and stalkers to do that... I'm easy to track back... but I don't need to be G.I.S. -level- easy... (and I don't deal well with orders anyway...)

Giveaway

Postby tidbits » Tue Apr 17, 2012 3:04 pm

No more camping tent.

Only this Bryce Mesh Tarp. I am sorry for the upside down picture and I couldn't find a PDF description of this product online. The box looked really old but I assure you inside is still new and ok. It is much lighter compared to Camping tent and I don't mind to carry this to station, if someone (around Tokyo) wants to pick up instead of sending. PM me if interested or for any further question (this is an order).

Hey Tidbits, is it one of those easy up types? (frame like this: Linky ) If so, I can probably convince the boss to let me take the van and go snag it from you.
