I love this guy's films (same guy that did Battle Royal ya?)... not a surprise regarding his view on gay marriage.

Disney also made a smart move to allow the same sex marriage on their grounds without the couple doing "christian ritual"* bit.

*that was explained in the article regarding the gay marriage at Tokyo Disney Land (but was referred to as "christian teachings":

Some expanded coverage here:
After the report of President Barack Obama's declaration of support for same-sex marriage, Takeshi Kitano said, "Mr. Obama seems to support same-sex marriage. This means he will support the marriage with an animal at the end, doesn't it?"

A Japanese actress Eri Watanabe, who also appeared as a commentator in this program, said to Takeshi Kitano, "What are you saying? Why do you say such a thing? I hope the same-sex marriage will be legal as well in Japan some day. Same-sex couples might be able to adopt and raise child. If such nice couples increase, I think it's a good thing."

Takeshi Kitano answered, "In Egypt blood brothers and sisters can get married."

Ms Watanabe said, "Brothers and sisters!? That... that is..."

Takeshi Kitano continued, "But let's think about a gay couple who adopt a child. If two married men raise a child, how will the child be raised? Whay do you think about it?"

The program's anchorwoman Ms Mikumo said, "If they cherish the child, then..."

Ms Watanabe continued, "The child can be properly raised. Decently."

Takeshi Kitano said, "However, the child will be bullied by saying, your mother is a father."

Ms Watanabe answered, "To avoid such a thing, we should continue make efforts, don't we? If the couple love child, what makes difference between gay couple and hetero couple?"

Takeshi Kitano said with a laugh, "If both hetero-sex marriage and same-sex marriage are OK, then you can marry an animal, don't you?"

Ms Watanabe said, "Why do you talk in such a way? Am I stupid because I listen to you seriously? Don't I have to be serious? Are you joking, Takeshi?"
yeah no doubt, lots of his coworkers and more importantly people he rakes huge fees from though his agency are fruity as hell

i like his films, and i have a feeling he was just being contradictory or curmudgeonly. here i think its ok to play devils advocate on issues that are all holy in the states. that said, i hope someone does some small dick humor around this aging motherfucker just so he knows how it feels.

im not gay, but i have friends and family that are, and even if its in jest, its a bit insulting from a guy with probably a 3 inch dick. there, said it

not really, all he is saying is where do you draw the line, he could have equally said the next step is marriage between old men and prepubescents.

it isn't where it starts, it's where it ends

same sex marriage is currently a sacrosanct concept among the acceptables, but when you start to extend the logic you find yourself in some ethically difficult territory. You are just applying a new set of value judgements based on a current trend, but the logic of ethics does not follow the niceties of a cozy conversation among like minded dinner party guests.

Some guy comes up and says he married a sperm whale, then got divorced, and as part of the settlement he is now entitled to half of the Antarctic ocean.

On the other hand,
Kitano may have tried both and is simply expressing his views based upon his experiences.

I don't get how the concept of marriage between two consenting adults leads into bestiality. Too reductionist. "I want to marry a Paramecium, I should be allowed to"...that ain't gonna happen.
It's pretty simple that the concept of marriage evolved from "from death do us part" to "until a basic divorce" to "until I've had enough of you or vice versa, and I call my lawyer", so why not include same sex marriages between members of the same species? Sorry Greji.

Well, he would have to show proof that the sperm whale in question owned the Antarctic ocean to being with.

I'll leave it to others to point out the obvious reductio ad absurdum.

Is there a need to draw a line? Why not be inclusive? Jesus was...he hung out with whores and lepers and probably poofs (13 testosterone-filled, hormone-raging Middle Eastern men hanging out together in a group for three years and no sex? I call BS. Same conditions as the Catholic seminaries where they fuck all the little boys, yet without having had the lifelong indoctrination...I don't think the Holy Son and His Dicksiples all avoided being a Judas to Deuteronomy's dictates, so to speak...but, that's all speculation).

legion wrote:he could have equally said the next step is marriage between old men and prepubescents.

He could have, and it would have been a much better argument, too, as well as being a far more valid point considerably harder to argue against. It also answers your question of where to draw the line. I guess it's got to come at consenting adults, which seems like as good a black-and-white picture as you can get to be applied equally across society.

Good point Takeshi. Unlike the 'normal' Japanese parents who beat their children to death, starve them to death, stab them to death, placing them at the washing machine till the die or just letting them boil in the car while having the fun of their life at the pachinco - I'm really worried about the well being of children of gay couples.

he was up against a couple of incompetent "idols" who only are mentally able to give "cute" answers and cry to make things more dramatic.

in the US, gay marriage can work cause rights will be given... if gays adopt a young child they will get gayternity leave and the work ethics for scheduling your schedule around your kid's schedule is there.

However, this would not fly in Japan. If gay marriage was allowed, so much bullshit would be hanging around it. Juminhyou would need a change (you can see how long that took for us FG), male bathrooms will need changing space for kids, and ijime will need to be prevented.

Takeshi has some good points if this was going to happen in Japan... but that is the case.

And since Japanese credit card companies have already issued a fucking cat a credit card... i bet my bottom dollar that some nut would want to marry their cat, dog, or goat as they are in love...

if this bill gets passed, I hope that they have the national guard posted in Cali... gonna be some chaos.

Haven't/won't ever marry a fairy, but I did once marry a nymph, mainly for her pussy, but she turned into a dog first and then an old goat, so I guess I've already met all your qualifications, except perhaps, in retrospect, I wasn't in love.

Ahh...dude, you were in love:love2:, admit it. Love isn't some Hollywood "forever" thing. It's there, sometimes for a long time (perhaps love is co-dependency), and sometimes it causes the guy to split town with a stripper who bleeds your credit card dry, sometimes it just disappears on its own, leaving the significant other in shock, heartbreak, etc., and other than the case of stalkers, people move on eventually to the next one, often carrying the luggage and scars from the last one. Good fun.

Sumething tells me you didn't change no diapers too often...
Either they got baby space on both side or, much more practical, the baby table are put inside the huge handicap loo. Allowing you to take a dump with either junior still in the baby cart or strapped to the changing table...

your wrong there my lil pussy loving friend. change diapers a lot at home but rarely get the chance to do so in public.

Ueno Zoo for example, there are one of those bathrooms you speak of, but if you go to the side where the Zebra, Rhinos, and penguins are, they don't got one. if they do, it is not by either food court/sit down and eat areas.

shopping malls also are a bit inconvenient, when I changed my lil boy's diaper, I had to go down 2 floors to go to the men's room with a changing area (it was closer than the baby area...)

in addition to the bold, in the ladies room there is apparently a seat where you can strap the tot down in the stall... how great that must be... Japanese have a hard time with eye contact already, so imagine a lil brat fighting for its life to get the hell out of that seat while mom is less than a meter away taking a leak...

EDIT: or the mom would just let their 3 year old roam the mall until the kid starts crying because they cant find mom... weird how I always hear announcements for little kids being lost and their parents to go get them...
