The alarm went off and scared the cat. I stood at the top of the stairs ready to scoop up the sleeping child if necessary. But all is well.

lucky you...

I stayed awake long enough to decide it wasn't worth getting up for, and my guess of "M5-ish, Ibaraki, inland" wasn't too far off the mark (seems I am getting good at this game...)

not surprising 'cos it was quite local to the blessed capital region.

Am avoiding the office this week because some of the girls have yurekuru or something similar installed on their PCs and go all hysterical every time it reports a M3.0 which might result in some fish off the coast of [s]China[/s] Chiba experiencing shindo 1.

Wow! Thank God for you guys letting me know it was an earthquake...I simply thought I had a bad case of flatulence and warned myself about the need to cut back on my consumption of eggs.

Patterns needs quotation marks as the groups agenda as evidenced by the end of the video seems to be very Benjamian Fulford-like.

Yeah, there is a HUGE "bullshit in music" side... But as often, they just use stuff that sort of make sense (water is wet, these big quake happen on a moderately regular schedule (1 is accident, 2 is coincidence, 3 is a crowd...)) and through some immensely irrationnal and dishonnest logic try to use it to push some alien shape shifting madness...

There might be a bit of a schedule followed by them biggie quakes. Even if it can also totally be a "cloud shaped like a butterfly" kind of human rationnalisation/seeing patterns where there is non. And I still sort'of believe that with the seemingly current house of card state of the earth crust these days that external gravitionnal pull can play a factor in destabilizing fault lines that are already begging to blow shit up. Just too lazy to search what other event follow the same kind of schedule.

Discarding the moon as a possible accomplice to the crime seems a bit too early...

Level 4 here in Hachinohe! Lasted a fairly long time, but only one pan fell off the stove, so no major harm, only nerves a little frayed.

If there was a big quake you usually wouldn't have enough time... that or you could sprang your ankle.

everytime i feel a shake, i hear the neighbors upstairs running and opening every door...

Am I missing the fun? Closest thing I've had to a quake here is I got woken up at 3am by some tards fighting in the hallway...thought it was a tremor til I heard the yelling....was saving $$ staying at a shitty motel instead of something on the strip really worth it?

ya... that is what would happen if a big one hit tokyo (assuming you are in a building). All this hype with keeping water in the tub so you can flush your toilet... ya... if the pluming got fucked up, so would a whole bunch of other things and flushing your turds down the pot would be the least of your worries (most likely the pipe would be busted... so your downstairs neighbor will get a nice present...)

my father in law swears left and right that the buildings with earthquake "proof" structure are safe...

HAVE THEY BEEN TESTED?.....

One question to ask anyone with a survival kit prepared... Where are your shoes? If they say they are at the genkan... tell them to have fun walking over dangerous/slippery rubble, broken glass (as well as other sharp stuff), dead bodies, and other stuff that you don't want your feet touching.

Mate, TIJ. As long as everybody wears their bosai zukin (those funny cloth hats they put on their heads during disasters and B-29 raids), the Japanese will be invincible.

Not matter how bad things are not every single building will collapse. Yes, if your place caves in on you, having an emergency rations supply and first aid kit won't mean much. Besides, if the epicenter is far enough away from where you live, you might experience major disruptions in services but still have a home to live in. Having some water, food, etc. on hand is probably a good idea. Remember how hard it was to buy rice, noodles or bottled water in Tokyo after 3-11 even though we didn't actually get hit that hard?

Also search for the 60' niigata (please) liquefaction. Whole buildings tilted 80 degrees or more. Without anykind of structural damage. These could be straightened with hydraulic rams. Some construction behave massively like ships.
