I'm more interested in hearing how an FG like me can make the escape.

If I knew the answer to that, do you think I'd still be stuck here now?

Well...we'll find out if they can make it once they move out of J-Land.

It helps if you don't have (m)any ties to cut. At least it did in my case.

I was actually made an offer once by a rich Chinese Thai girl. She even told me I could get some on the side after we were married. I knew better than to accept that deal though. There was no way it was going to end well. Did I mention that she was violent and mentally unstable?

Got an email where i could send a resume...

But this topic is starting to get me thinking (sort of a new condition for me, not used to do that...)

And beside the troublesome "where could one go" (as in possibility) i would not even be abul to know where i would like to go...

The usual asian city mess is getting unbearable... england is full of chavs, and much less cool than in the times of queen Victoria... in a 1984 kind of way... Suede Norway is full of cold... Germany is full of closet nazis or worse... germans... africa/south america, no place to go when you are used to indoor plumbing... Middle east and france... full of islamofascistes...

Yeah, I also know that where ever I do go I'll end up sick of it and wanting to leave a few years later. I'll never be happy as long as I have to work for a living. I would go back to the US but no job opportunities and no health insurance make that tough.

Going back to God's Own (Godzone?) as soon as I can...and absolutely petrified of doing so, to be honest.

This is my standing now... I want to go back home, but no jobs worth taking or a job that can cover all our healthcare costs, living costs, and relocating costs.

Tickets home 5 months in advance for a family of 4 runs around USD6k, plus all the other BS of moving... looking at 12 grand to get everything done how my wife wants it to be.

Fuck it, just rot here or hope we all deteriorate from radiation.

Or just wait for the next tsunami and have your belongings wash up on USA beaches. Much cheaper than the alternative.

You can stamp your luggage with something like "French laundry" and just wait til it ends up back in your country...even in Japan, French exchange students are famous for not showering or changing their clothes for almost a week
