The Japanese Police are BEST!

Postby Shibuya Me » Tue Sep 30, 2003 5:56 pm

The Daily Yomiuri reports....

A young Japanese girl was stabbed by a Japanese male who was her x-boyfriend. The Police were watching the house at the time.

"The police car was parked 30 meters from the house so as to not block passing cars and not to disturb the neighbors. "

Wow. The Japanese Police are BEST!

I feel safe. The Japanese Police are just so...ya know...wonderful!

Can't even protect a young girl when they know another crazy Japanese male is after his X girlfriend....

What is wrong with this picture? :?:

Man. Great Police Protection Guys!

True Story

Postby GomiGirl » Tue Sep 30, 2003 7:09 pm

Well on my way home from the supermarket last night, I stopped at my local koban to borrow their tyre-pump as my bike tyres were a bit flat.

The policeman was very helpful and friendly to me and let me borrow their very effective little pump and my tires were rock hard in no time flat (sic).

At the time he was helping some young chap with directions using a map. He seems pretty helpful in that case too.

So they can't be all bad... can they?

My point....

Postby Shibuya Me » Tue Sep 30, 2003 7:19 pm

My point here Gomi Girl...

Any man with lust in his eyes for a pretty girl like you, will get pumped up any time you ( or they) want it. A tire?! Wow! If that is all they can do....?!?!?!?!?!

But that is a bit different from defending a sleeping girl from a freak with a knife..

C com Gomi Girl....

You are a doll and you know it....! :D

Just never fall asleep if someone wants to murder you. Well you can sleep, just don't call the police and tell them there is a crazy guy in Japan who wants to kill you...

You will die for sure!

I "Get It".. must be my amazing ability to read english. As for turning the tables.. how so..?!? The point is I'm pretty sure that this kind of incident is NOT Unique to Japan.. that should be straight forward enough.. no..?!? The 1st thing I said was "Shitty.. No Doubt".. but really you made it out like this is an isolated 'Japan Cops' thing..!!! I'm not trying to defend anyone, just pointing out the simple fact that it can (and does) happen anywhere.. Try to focus!

Postby Shibuya Me » Tue Sep 30, 2003 7:33 pm

We are talking about stupid cops in Japan and the girl who was stabbed.

Now, try to discuss that...okay? Use your good English ability.

Not other countries until you find something in the paper.

OK? :D

Now focus and have a good day....

I wouldn't say they're the least intelligent police force in the world, but I think too many of their officers are fearful of organized crime elements to be effective.

It happens in the USA all the time, in fact in all countries. Where are you from and I'll dismantle your police force for you. The police are not good at preventing crime, they are the punishers of those who commit crimes.

It's a sad thing but I recall in the past few years a battered wife under protective custody with police all around her giving an interview to a news organazation and was shot dead by her husband as the camara rolled.

What Shibuya Me writes is what gets under my skin because in his post he implies that only Japanese police are innefective. For starters, in Canada the police will not prevent a crime from happening but they will gladly come to you and file a report once the crime has been committed. The self-defense argument doesn't hold here.

If the cops were 30 meters away from that girl, the guy had time to commit the cry before cops got there. That is not even news. Cops cannot stand by every citizen and act like bodyguards. Like GomiGirl says, I too, have had great experience with cops in Japan because they are the only ones who can tell you exactly where an address is. They have those amazing detailed plans of their neighbourhood with the names of the residents. Try getting that in any non-Japan country.

So, Shibuya Me, I guess you like "these" kind of cops, eh?

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/nation/specials/aroundthenation/nypd/

Compared to U.S. cops, I LOVE Japanese cops. Not saying that japanese cops are perfect at all, but any place where I can live and not fear getting a plunger up the ass (http://rwor.org/a/v19/920-29/921/louima.htm) after getting arrested is alright by me. Sounds like you're just doing some common, understandable, gaijin venting. Still, don't let the temporary venting allow you to skew your view of japan, there's NO WAY you can call Japan's cop's the worst. Shit, look at Brazilian cops. It's a well known fact that they prefer shooting Brazilian citizens rather than arresting them, and if you run into one of their road stops, you'd better have cash on you, they don't even care about seeing your I.D. No, I'm happy with Japan cops so far.

not fear getting a plunger up the ass

That was a terrible incident but what about torture by Japanese prison guards? Hell, they killed a man in Nagoya, wrapping that torture belt around him so tight. I know prison guards and cops are two different jobs but what about the coercion techniques used by Japanese cops after arrests? It's archaic, barbaric and without any sense of justice.

Cops get gnarly everywhere and to some degree they have to. It's a hard job. But, in Japan it seems the bad points are institutionalized.

And what's the fucking deal with bosozouku little motorcycle sissies? They just laugh at the cops while waking up the whole neighborhood night after night after night. I'd like to see the J-Fuzz pull a Rodney King on those little assholes!

Maybe they're not supposed to enforce the law, but what about protecting the public? If the police don't serve in this role, that leaves no one to turn to for protection from crimes against person or property. Rape and robbery victims, etc., are left to fend for themselves under such a system, aren't they? That's what is unforgivable to the Western mind.

Historically groups called machi-yokko defended small villages and towns from lawless elements. They were somewhat akin to local militia, made up of clerks, shopkeepers, innkeepers, laborers, homeless warriors and some Ronin. It is from the exploits of these groups that Kurosawa got the idea for 'shichinin no samurai"

Nowadays the Yakuza would have you believe they are rooted in the machi-yokko, potraying themselves as defenders of the weak and downtrodden but most scholars dismiss this as self serving revisionism. In all probability the Yakuza were themselves part of the so-called hatamoto-yakko (servants of the shogun) who finding themselves out of work after the fall of the shogunate took to more shady occupations.

See this is western thinking... there are baddies out there to rape and pilliage at every corner and the police need to be there to protect.

But if there is harmony in the community then there are no baddies.. so the police are there to keep the people in a law abiding mentality and then there is no crime as there is peace and tranquility and people don't jay walk either..

Oh, I thought by and large they didn't. Any idea how many yakuza have guns? Is it statistically propable that any given yakuza the police would hassle would pull out a gun and shoot them?

Japanese Police Just Suck!

Postby Shibuya Me » Wed Oct 01, 2003 11:04 pm

What I am saying is there was a story that just broke in Japan.

The stupid ass police allowed a women to be stabbed about 6 or 7 times even though they were only 30 meters away from the door step!

The stupid ass Japanese police said....

"....Welp! We did not think he would go in the back door!"

So I know things happen in other countries as well. I am just saying that in recent days, the stupid ass Japanese police showed how really stupid they are in Niigata. And from my experience....all of Japan. Not Osaka, however.

So, what is the problem? You can not say..." Yeah Shibuya Me. You are 100% right! The police in Japan are really asses! "

And you could go onto say...

" .....And I realize how much authority the stupid ass police do not have over their citizens. Even the Yakuza has more authority over their citizens "

Man. A girl almost died. You can not even say...." hey...that was a terrible thing. Welp, we should train our guys better or give them authority. I do see a problem with the stupid ass police in Japan. Yep....I really do....mmmmm"

But hey, just blame other countries as soon as something bad happens in Japan. That is so.....North Korea!
