Tokyo's Anti-Crime Drive Nets Visa Violators

.... They stormed into the apartment building and ran upstairs. Some branched off at the third floor and the rest went straight up to the fifth. By the time they started ringing doorbells and banging on doors, they were all sporting either mesh vests bearing the brightly printed word "immigration", or police armbands, and had been transformed into a raiding force of about 50 officials.
The raid was part of the largest-ever immigration-control campaign in the country. It began in mid-September and is being conducted by the Tokyo Regional Immigration Bureau and the Metropolitan Police Department to crack down on foreigners illegally living and working in Japan.
