Guys - picking on incorrect spelling in a non-native language is really not cool.. You all know that this is a common error and kinda understandable given the pronunciation.

I know you are just having a laugh but if the shoe was on the other foot...

That'd really fuck 'em, because then they'd have no idea if it was reft or light....

THIS....but I don't think they were picking on Take as much as just having fun with how the spelling comes out. I didn't even get it until I said ドラグout loud in the best Japanese accent I could muster and realized he meant "drug"...kinda like ファン often times becomes "fan" instead of "fun."

Considering who's getting his balls busted I don't think you should be concerned. He's also talked a lot of shit about people's Japanese in the past.

The victim Fujimoto is a member of Kanto Rengo.
Dojin-kai, one of Kyushu yakuzas, is a one of wholesalers of hard drugs in Japan. All of Tokyo yakuzas have to buy hard drugs from Dojin-kai to sell people.
But Kanto Rengo has their own route to obtain hard drugs and ignore Dojin-kai. So Dojin-kai got angry at Kanto Rengo and killed an executive member of Kanto Rengo 4 years ago by the same way, sky-masked several dudes having steel pipes.
And now... this.

It's also possible that there were just stupid Japanese. I hear/read broken Japanese from the locals all the time.

How about clever Japanese pretending to impersonate foreigners? Or clever foreigners pretending to be dumb Japanese? The possibilities are endless.

I was making a joke - albeit a slightly politically-incorrect one. Referring to a black person as "dojin"(土人 - dirt person - usually for dark-skinned 'natives') would be like calling a white man "ketou" (毛唐 - hairy foreigner). Both are derogatory terms/pejoratives.

I guess the advances in optical sensor technology will eventually make their way down to the surveillance camera world... Better high-ISO low-light performance would be a huge benefit to these cameras.

Like for car backup cameras...

It's not a matter of technology... but costs...

1 your sensors cost too much...
2 they collect too much data that in turn cost also too much to store...

Roppongi club beating death over non-repayment of loan to gangster
---Loan dating back over 1 year for Shibuya yakiniku restaurant was not repaid---
The Tokyo Reporter | Sept. 12, 2012
Last week’s beating death of restaurant manager Ryosuke Fujimoto in Tokyo’s Roppongi entertainment district was over non-repayment of a business loan, reports Friday (Sep. 21).
Early on September 2, a group of 10 men in ski masks and armed with metal bats arrived at club Flower and assaulted Fujimoto...he died an hour and 20 minutes later...
...
Fujimoto, who was of Korean descent, operated a number of bars and restaurants in Tokyo, with his first being in Koenji. According to a younger friend, the victim opened a "girls yakiniku (grilled beef)" restaurant called Meushi in the Shibuya entertainment area in June of last year. "Cute female waitresses showing a bit of skin serve high-quality meat," says the acquaintance.
Shukan Asahi (Sep. 21) says that Fujimoto also had a stake in roughly 20 other restaurants in the Shimokitazawa and Shibuya areas....
...
Meushi proved popular, but its existence was due to a loan from a questionable source. “He appears to have borrowed a lot of money from a person affiliated with organized crime,” says a person familiar with the matter. “However, after one year, he hadn’t repaid the loan and was living a nice life.”
As a result, a non-gangster organization-- specially referred to as furyoshudan, or “undesirable group” -- was hired to attack Fujimoto...

My guess is they weren't actually supposed to kill him. It only takes one good accidental shot to the head.

Following beating death, Roppongi club Flower reopens as Studio Gate
---Venue’s owner has a history of trouble with police---
tokyoreporter.com | Oct. 3, 2012
The Roppongi club Studio Gate opened for business on September 21. While the action was light at 10 p.m., when the doors opened, by midnight, the hall was packed. The adjacent VIP sections could be seen filling up as tanned men in suits and women in one piece outfits sat on a black leather sofa drinking champagne.
The club was formerly known as Flower. Earlier that month, 31-year-old restaurant owner Ryosuke Fujimoto was beaten to death by a gang of thugs. The club had been shut ever since, and thus far no arrests have been made by the police, with whom the club’s owner is no stranger...more...

Operator of nightclub where man was beaten to death arrested under illegal dancing law

Police on Monday said they have arrested the operator of a Roppongi nightclub where a man was beaten to death by a gang of 10 men on Sept 2 on charges of permitting dancing without a license.

According to police, the club owner, Mikito Baba, 39, and seven employees, were arrested after police raided the club on Sunday night.

After the fatal beating incident, Baba closed the club, then named Flower, and reopened it under the name Studio Gate on Sept 21, NTV reported. Police say that Baba did not apply for the appropriate license to permit dancing on the premises.

A police spokesperson said that the club was also unlicensed at the time of the attack, NTV reported.

The no-dancing regulation, which dates back to 1948, has been getting a lot of media attention recently as a police crackdown intensifies.

And here is more on the no-dancing laws.
