OK guys, I'd hit it, but only because I'd hit anything.
But, having read her excuses on that fashion site, I lost all sympathy for her. She's a toxic bitch. She was only working at Prada Japan for a few months when all this happened. She is trouble with a capital T.

She found there to be "an ugly side" to the fashion world. Say it ain't so! I thought the fashion world existed to make people feel good about themselves and to learn how to dress and style their hair in new and interesting ways ("Zoolander" - has it already been nine years?)

Actually, "toxic bitch" sounds like a perfect fit for a company run by what sounds like the toxic-bitch-to-end-all-toxic-bitches, Miuccia Prada. The Spirit of Mussolini apparently burns very strong indeed in the concrete-bunker Prada lair in Milan.

Not a particularly flattering photo of Mrs. Bovrisse. Kinda looks like a Iwasaki Hiromi wannabe

Prada fights back.

Image
The Japanese unit of Italian fashion house Prada has launched a countersuit claiming defamation against a former employee who is suing the company for alleged sexual harassment and unfair dismissal.Prada Japan is suing former manager Rina Bovrisse at the Tokyo District Court, which held its first hearing Tuesday, demanding she pay 33 million yen (390,000 dollars) for harming its image, the Japan Times reported Wednesday.

Bovrisse and two of her former colleagues at the Tokyo boutique are suing Prada Japan, alleging she was unfairly fired after being told she was "ugly" and didn't have "the Prada look" by a top company executive.

Bovrisse wants her dismissal overturned and is seeking damages for emotional distress after the two sides failed to reach an out-of-court settlement at a labour tribunal.

"I'm here to take a stand for Japanese women who have been victims of harassment and discrimination at the workplace," Bovrisse said at a news conference in April.
Bovrisse, a Japanese national married to a Frenchman, alleges that Prada Japan pressured a number of female employees into resigning by describing them as "aged, ugly, fat, bad body shape, bad teeth, disgusting and not cute".

According to Bovrisse, a company executive also told her through a human resources manager to change her hairstyle, lose weight and ensure she fits the "Prada look".

She claims Prada Japan fired her in March after she complained to the company's headquarters about the alleged harassment.

Actually, she looks attractive to me. She's definitely MILF-y. Is there something that makes you all 'cool & edgy' about dissing every woman as a "cow", "pig" or "dog"? Yeah, I get it that you're all dating super models.

Also, I would like to see her (Rina Bovrisse) eventually win in court. I think the tactic by Prada and also Berlitz/Benesseto launch large countersuits against plaintiffs for "damages to their reputation" is a disturbing trend and one designed to also intimidate others who might consider filing for unfair dismissal.

I want them out of the sarong, in the back, joining the mile high club with me :D

Never done it on a plane but the one time I took Amtrak up to San Jose, I ended up banging some girl on the ride back in the Handicap restroom. There about 10 drunk guys in that section that cheered as we went in...and gave high fives as we walked out.

OMG! Is there a world wide conspiracy against fat chicks? ;)

Wanted: any-size men but slender women only
A speed dating event advertising a night for "slender" women sized 6 to 10 has been slammed by one woman who was invited to attend.

Fast Impressions, an Australian-based company, is holding its first Auckland Slender Women Speed Dating event at Degree Bar on July 19.

The event is for "ladies sized 6 to 10, who identify with a 'fit and trim' body type and for men who love a slender woman," said the company's website.

Men do not have to meet size criteria to attend.

Axed manager's sexual harassment lawsuit against Prada Japan fails

By MINORU MATSUTANI
Staff writer

The Tokyo District Court on Friday quashed a demand by a former manager of Prada Japan that the firm pay her ¥58 million in damages for sexual harassment, ruling that telling her to lose weight wasn't so bad given that Prada is in the fashion business.

"It may be insensitive for the president to tell an employee (to lose weight), but considering the nature of Prada's business (and other factors), it cannot be recognized that it is bad enough to cause emotional distress worth compensation," the court said.

Plaintiff Rina Bovrisse said afterward, "This ruling means the company and bosses can do whatever they want and anything is allowed in workplaces of the fashion industry."

On other harassment allegations lodged by Bovrisse, the court ruled "there is not enough evidence to support them."

The court said Prada was justified in firing Bovrisse because she told The Japan Times about the alleged sexual harassment and allowed the newspaper to run an article about it on March 12, 2010 — grounds for dismissal as Prada's internal rules state it can fire employees for defaming it.

Bovrisse, who began working for Prada Japan in April 2009 and was fired in March 2010, had demanded ¥58 million in compensation for emotional distress.

She had argued that human resources manager Hiroyuki Takahashi in September 2009 passed along a message from CEO Davide Sesia stating that she needed to lose weight and change her style to the "Prada look," and that Sesia was too ashamed of her ugliness to let people from Milan see her, the argument the court dismissed because of a lack of evidence.

Sesia and Takahashi argued that Takahashi asked Bovrisse to lose weight and told her that keeping in shape was essential for her job description as a senior retail manager of Prada Japan — overseeing 40 Prada outlets in Japan and two in Guam and Saipan — because she headed shop clerks whose appearance is a factor in attracting customers.

Bovirsse alleged Sesia and Takahashi were also responsible for other harassment, including instructing Bovrisse to "eliminate ugly, fat and old" shop managers and assistant managers, and to force them to purchase Prada products to increase sales, but the court also saw no evidence of this.

The Prada Japan side said those accusations were false and that Bovrisse created a hostile environment in the company by reporting false accusations to the Milan headquarters.

Bovrisse also complained Friday about the attitude of the lead judge, Reiko Morioka. According to Bovrisse, Morioka brought in her and her four lawyers in June to recommend they reach an out-of-court settlement. When Bovrisse declined, Morioka screamed at her, "If you don't settle, I will rule you lose," Bovrisse claimed.

Prada Japan is countersuing Bovrisse for ¥33 million for harming its image.

She looks like a man with a wig?

If these kind of claims were in another industry, I might have taken her seriously but discrimination based on looks/image in an industry based on looks/image  Either way, her comments about the judge are just more poop on top of the mountain of evidence that's she's nothing more than a toxic bitch that will find trouble anywhere. Though I do wonder...if she didn't fit the Prada look, how the hell did she get hired in the first place?

Maybe she put on some weight after joining.

Anyway, it's a tough call in some of these cases. It's an easy call if you're hired in the back office were looks shouldn't matter at all or for a job as a model or Hooters girl were they absolutely do. However, when you get to customer facing jobs like sales or even reception you start getting into a gray area.

Gray area or not, if her claims had any truth to them, Prada considers that position one that needs to reflect their image. (fugliness) Then there can be a case made for being overweight if you're on the company health insurance. I dunno but TIJ, if you don't like working somewhere, go somewhere else. Forcing change on your superiors?

I dug around in her Facebook--There was one blurry (Photoshoped?) photo of her just after graduation from university and a couple of photos at work at Prada. She obviously is fixated on wearing layers of very unPrada lace as camouflage. She never tried fit the Prada "look," which is generally is considered dissing the fashion house where you work.
