Japanese imaging technology eradicates wrinkles - in video

Postby BigInJapan » Wed Nov 07, 2012 11:42 am

foton inc., a Japanese digital imaging company located in Tokyo, has developed a technology for retouching videos that can remove wrinkles, make you look slimmer, and if it is released commercially, no home videos will look the same...
Age Reduction FX from foton inc.
Our studio developed our new retouching technique “Age Reduction FX”.
We have stuck to revising and expressing real skin textures for over 25 years,
and making it possible to enhance real human skin in a movie.
We definitely care about general old age symptoms such as withered skin and wrinkles, and
work on individual aging problems too.
TOEI DIGITAL CENTER Zukun cooperated with us to make this movie.

Screen captures of the video below:

(Watch the video on the YouTube site in HD for the full effect)
The sample video portrays a Japanese woman in her 60's who looks 20 years younger after the application of the Age Reduction FX processing. This kind of effect is well-known with still images (using Photoshop etc.), and very primitive "smooth skin" type filters exist on some consumer video cameras, but a fully automated retouching system like this would sell like hotcakes if it gets release commercially, or incorporated into YouTube for example.
